What is your first reaction after reading the article?

After reading the articles, I felt amazed at how much information we have about Science in general and Biology in particular. However, the amazing thing is that scientists still do not have any real theories of how human beings were created.

How does the article characterize science and/or scientists?

The article reflects that the author characterizes Science as the potential building block for human beings but its knowledge falls apart when it comes to the theories related to the creation of humans. I have deduced after reading the article that despite everything Science counts and the information it gathers, everything needs a supernatural Creator to hold Science, the universe, and the origins of life together at the end of the day (New Life Origins Theory Has Old Problems).

What does the article have to say about God or any Scriptures?

The article does not say anything about God or any Scripture directly yet it refers to the existence of a supernatural Creator when it says that within the buildup of ribonucleic acid (RNA) with very particular conditions being met. The article does say that without the Creator it would fall apart as some supernatural existence holds all the things together.

If you were the one who has spent perhaps your entire life working on this one idea, how would you react to how the Christian article characterizes your work?

If I were in the position of spending my entire life working on the idea of the origins of life falling short, I would be proud on one end to know that the findings of my research prove the need for a supernatural existence, a Creator, who has joined all the properties together and bind them into humankind. However, I would also be anxious and angry knowing that I was so close to learning the idea of the origins of life but in the end, my research ultimately collapsed in the testing process.

What scientific papers or research ideas are being addressed in the article?

The article uses findings from biological research on DNA and RNA.

What target audience does the paper seem written for?

The target audience of the paper is probably both non-believers and Christians.

If you were not a Christian, how would you react to the article?

If I were not a Christian, I would be curious to know how Science has failed the tests put on it. It was supposed to provide evidence that human beings were created from nothing but the testing proves that everything in the universe and the origin of life proves the need for supernatural intervention of a supernatural Creator.

What is your first reaction after reading the article?

I found it interesting how neither of the four panelists could solve the question “Can the building blocks of life be considered solved?” I also found this thing interesting in the article that tests and the research also makes claims that there is a need for supernatural intervention to bind everything together.

How does the article characterize science and/or scientists?

The author of the article seems to reason with the opinions of the scientists as he keeps open-minded thoughts based on scientists’ findings. The author also uses the findings that Scientists have found during their testing to conjure his thoughts.

What does the article have to say about God or any Scriptures?

The author has mentioned in his closing remarks that the establishment of everything could only be achieved by a supernatural or a super-intelligent Creator (Ross). However, he refrains from mentioning about God directly.

If you were the one who has spent perhaps your entire life working on this one idea, how would you react to how the Christian article characterizes your work?

I am content with the context of what the author has written in this article as the basis of this article is based on the scientific findings, not on the personal opinions of the author.

What scientific papers or research ideas are being addressed in the article?

The main focus and the research idea of the article is the Miller experiment.

What target audience does the paper seem written for?

I believe that non-believers are the possible target audience of this article. It seems to me that the author has used scientific findings to attempt to argue the need for a super-intelligent or natural being in the universe.

If you were not a Christian, how would you react to the article?

If I were not a Christian, I would more into the findings and research about the need for a supernatural being that the author has recounted.

Evolutionary Creationist Article: https://biologos.org/articles/origins-of-life-the-questions-are-big-and-the-answers-complex

What is your first reaction after reading the article?

To be honest, I enjoyed reading this article as the author has provided explanatory scientific evidence without complicating the research. One thing I found interesting is that the author did not sound exceptionally smart in his explanations. Instead, the author has meticulously explained everything in simple terminology.

How does the article characterize science and/or scientists?

The author has mentioned Science that is “real progress being made, but the questions are big, and the answers are complex” (“Origins of Life”).

What does the article have to say about God or any Scriptures?

The article mainly focuses on Science and not God or anything supernatural but the author mentions his focus on Science and relates his scientific findings while intertwining them with his faith.

If you were the one who has spent perhaps your entire life working on this one idea, how would you react to how the Christian article characterizes your work?

I am intrigued by this research and if I were the person working on this idea that has fallen apart, I would be anxious as well as excited to see what could be the outcomes in the future as new scientists and researchers are stepping back from the research for what it truly was.

What scientific papers or research ideas are being addressed in the article?

The author has mentioned the Miller experiment, Darwin’s evolution theory, and natural selection. He has also mentioned his work with NSF and NASA.

What target audience does the paper seem written for?

I believe that the potential target audience of the paper is Christians because they do not believe in the evolution theory of Darwin. The author mentions how the theory of evolution could be tied into the Gospels to let Christians understand that their beliefs and faith work along with Science.

If you were not a Christian, how would you react to the article?

As a non-Christian, I think I would be hungrier for more information as I am still confused about certain acknowledgements of Science.
