Sister Carrie Novel Plot

Henry Dreiser wrote Sister Carrie’s Novel in 1900. Caroline Meeber, an 18-year-old girl, migrated to Chicago to stay with her sister Minnie and Sven Hanson, her husband. When Caroline Meeber was traveling met Charles Drouet on the train, and they exchanged personal information before entering the town. The relationship between Minnie Hanson and her sister, Caroline Meeber, developed actively. The situation motivated Minnie to search for a job to pay rent for her sister as well as her husband. Unfortunately, Minnie and her husband, Sven Minnie, disapproved of her interest in a Chicago recreational job because of male and female interaction and socialization in the theater (“A review of Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser – Compulsive Reader,” 2017).

Their illness of Caroline sends her to the street, where she encounters Drouet on the street in the town. Caroline Meeber’s beauty attracted Charles Drouet during their interactions within the city. Charles was encouraged to convince them to leave her sister Minnie and stay together in his luxury apartment. Carrie’s sister sends goodbye to her sister on the following day. Drouet installed for Caroline, and they lived together, making Caroline forget her sister. Drouet introduced Caroline to his boss, George Hurstwood, in an attempt that increase the manager’s friendship with Caroline. Later, Carrie and her sister Caroline went to a club where they met George Hurstwood and Charles Drouet. Carrie danced very well, hence attracting George, and they planned to live together in New York City. Carrie’s sister, Caroline Meeber, her husband Sven Hanson, Charles Drouet and George Hurstwood make the novel more historical and cultural development in American books (“Book Summary,” 2017).

Historical Development And Political And Cultural Processes

Henry Dreiser developed the comparison and contrast of the historical building, primarily political and cultural processes from Carrie’s sister and other characters like George Hurstwood in the society in the 17th century. Henry described Carrie’s novel in a realism way to launch morals of human base instincts. Take an example from the story of the Carrie Sister, where receipt of sales doubled in a day, showing that Caroline Meeber was not withdrawn from the shelves as compared to the general public of sale. This comparison leads to the political and economic crisis in the community. Additionally, the realistic depiction of human conditions appeared in the novel.

As indicated by (Carrie & Dreiser, 2017), in the novel Arthur, Henry Dreiser was against the censorship of Caroline Meeber in 1880. Nevertheless, Caroline was firmly engaged in a sexual relationship with George, the manager of Fitzgerald and Moy’s pub. The book was mostly affecting the moral norms and socialization of that time. The prohibited relationships between these two sisters, Carrie and Minnie, were against the cultural development of the Americans, as Arthur disclosed their courtship.

Thesis And Explanatory Of Words That Remade American

According to General Robert, the article presents adverse implications of the American war as the principal idea. As presented in the article, the Battle of Gettysburg explains the death, injury and missing of the American citizens. The change of the war to become a symbol of national purpose appeared a better approach to retain and maintain the significant pattern of realistic life of Americans after the battle. Again, the strength words of Abraham Lincoln helped in the compelling demonstration of the reality of the richness and strangeness of the nation. In comparison to the present time, many countries face political conflicts. Such challenges contribute to increased deaths and injuries of many citizens living in various countries. As the author indicates “I cannot delay to pick up the debris of the battlefield.” His statement shows an example of a battle among Americans. The economic activities of the American residents experienced low returns as a result of the political crisis in the country (Wills, 2017).

The work of Abraham Lincoln, the Gettysburg Address, appeared as an authoritative and influential expression to the citizens affected by politics. Luckily, Abraham Lincoln enhanced the constitutional laws to be followed by the policy makers to reduce peoples’ humiliation in the present day. As compared to the Gettysburg battle era, Americans in 2017 lived in a self-centered environment.
