Is Technology Killing Human Touch?

I felt so bad while reading and analyzing the reality regarding the usage of the internet and cell phones. In the article I read, I was quoted that internet usage is killing the depth of relationships as there are many websites that offer a bed partner immediately according to your desire, which is killing the beauty of intimate relationship desires. If we notice, it is a common trend that people are sitting together in a common room, but everyone is in a different world while using cell phones and the internet. It was mentioned in the article that we are sacrificing our time which we used to spend in interaction with others. Our relationships are internet based with less reality and more fantasy. It is proven that if a partner spends more time on the internet or social media, the other starts developing a sense of insecurity.

Interaction among people is still there, but they are talking on social media rather than face to face, but the face to face interaction is a healer, whereas social media interaction is a cause of stress and anxiety. In the past, people were happier than today because they interacted face to face rather than spending time on social media because social media is 90 percent fake and working on unnecessary standards like beauty, looks, show-off, brand consciousness, richness, and expression. But the real beauty of human interaction is in accepting reality and finding the inner beauty rather than the outer look.

Unfortunately, yes computers are slowly controlling how humans interact with other humans. It is so depressing that these disastrous changes in the ways of interactions are affecting humans’ neurology and the anatomy of the brain, as it is a fact that the anatomy of the human brain changes with experiences we have in our lives, and this experience is affecting our health, too.

Similarities And Differences Between Print Media And Online Media

In this article, Aaron Charles pointed out four important aspects related to similarities and differences between print and online media. First of all, he discussed cost, which is always a very important aspect of any business. He said that the cost of online media is ten million less than the print media edition. Online media is more easily accessible and is in the range of everybody, everywhere. But print media costs more than online media and its availability is less than online media. Secondly, he wrote about ad revenue. As ads are easier to spread via the internet than print media, that’s why online media is growing more than print media, but marketers are using both sources for advertisement. The third is an environmental impact, as both the sources are using some machinery to produce, so both have an environmental impact, which is not so supportive. For example, printing paper is required and printing machinery too, which produces carbon and other harmful gases. Same is the case with online media, for making equipment for online usages like cell phones and computers, etc., factories are using machinery which is adding carbon and other gases which are harmful to the environment. The last point is enjoyment. People who like print media use print media as a source of enjoyment; others who feel good with online media go with online media.

I am a print media lover. I feel that making notes while reading is easier on print media rather than online media. But online media is also saving a lot of capital which we can use in other useful ways, and it is also saving us from having piles of books and papers around us. Online media is providing us with the facility to have bundles of information in our access immediately, which is very short of time.

Brain Versus Computer

Yes, additional progress should be made to make digital systems “more human” if they help people communicate with complex computer systems because it will be more comfortable for humans to have computers working around them instead of humans. Life will become more luxurious than ever. The concept of artificial intelligence is based on the progress of computers to make them like the human mind. But I think it is not possible because as humans can think and innovate, a computer cannot because computers use software and whatever is present in the software, the computer can think in that range, not like the human. And contrary to this, we as humans are not able to add everything that is going on in the world. So it is good to work more on the digitals for lowering the human labor to facilitate humanity, but I think it is not possible to make the computer think like a human and react like a human. I read the article that it is different when you talk to a person on the phone and when the computer guides you on the phone. For humans, human interaction seems more normal than interaction with the computer. It will take time to improve the computers to respond like humans, but it will also be done if the computers are provided with a huge database of vocabulary regarding human living styles and expected behaviors. But still, the impersonal approach of the computer is difficult to treat because the emotional response generated by the person is always different from the computer. Computers cannot be emotionally intelligent enough to replace humans. They are not able to respond to uncommon expressions. For example, if we ask for a person while asking his name. The other person will reply with good or bad gestures, but the computer will reply that it does not understand the question. This is the difference between man and computer, but more work should be done in this scenario.
