The organization will come up with the establishment of a new product that is anticipated to sell globally. The product the organization should try to invest in is the circuit protection fuse. A fuse is an electrical protection device that functions to provide over-current protection for an electrical circuit (Charter 2017, p32). Its vital component is a copper wire or strip that melts when too much current flows through it, thereby interrupting the current; hence, it is a sacrificial device. Once a fuse has functioned, it is an open circuit, and it must be replaced or rewired, depending on the type. Fuses have been used as essential safety devices since the initial days of electrical engineering. The current and time-operating characteristics of fuses tend to be selected to deliver suitable protection without unnecessary disruption. Wiring guidelines usually describe a maximum current of the fuse rating for specific electric circuits. Short circuits, overloads, mismatched loads, or device failure are the primary reasons for fuse installation. A fuse is a natural means of eliminating power from a faulty electrical structure, known as Automatic Disconnection of Supply (ADS). Circuit breakers can be used as an alternative design solution to fuses but have significantly different features.
Characteristics Of Circuit Protection Fuse
Time-Current
Time-current characteristics are the most important specifications of fuses. Circuit fuses tend to be designed only to survive continuous current that corresponds to their rated current; when the current flowing through a fuse surpasses the rated current, the fuse is required to cut off the current within a pre-set time interval, thus guaranteeing the interruption of current flow.
Fuse Precision
The melting time does not merely exhibit a directly proportional correlation with the actual current value but instead is determined by the Joule heat generated by the current passing through the fuse. Accordingly, when authenticating variations in the melting time or conducting quality-assurance tests such as frequency distribution and measuring specific current values, a fault can occur in the form of a harmful LCL period.
Speed
The speed of fuse operation depends on how much current flows through it and the material making the protection fuse. The operating time is not a fixed interval but decreases as the current increases. Fuses have diverse operating-time characteristics associated with current. An average fuse may require twice its rated current to open in one second, while a fast-blow fuse may require double its rated current to operate in less than one second (0.1). Fuse selection depends on the load’s characteristics. Semiconductor devices might use a fast or ultrafast fuse because these devices heat quickly when excess current flows. The fastest-blowing fuses are designed for highly sensitive electrical equipment, where even brief exposure to an overload current could be very destructive.
Worthwhile Of The Product
I believe the product under consideration is very valuable as it is an inexpensive protection device in electrical circuits against short circuits and circuit overloads. A fuse is a copper wire or thin metal strip that has the property of a low melting point and is inserted into the electrical circuit as a protective device. A fuse offers protection against excessive currents that can flow in the circuit during short circuits. Under standard working conditions, the current flowing through the circuit is within safe limits, but when a fault occurs, such as a short circuit, or when a load greater than the circuit capacity is connected to it, the current surpasses the limiting value, resulting in the fuse wire heating up, melting, and breaking the current. Thus, a fuse protects the machine or electrical equipment against excessive currents; hence, cases of damage to the apparatus are rare when there are fuses in the circuits.
Profile Of Audiences
The audience under consideration here comprises a senior manager, an executive manager, and fellow staff in all organizational departments.
How About Approaching Each Audience
In approaching different audiences, one should consider the communication objectives available. It is vital to think about the purpose of each communication, as this will aid in designing the message. One can then take what he/she already knows about the audience to anticipate their reactions and modify the message, tone, and medium.
I will approach the senior manager in a respectful tone, requesting that he invest in the new product that has come up in my research. I will give him the benefits of the fuse and explain how implementing it could bring profit to the company. I will approach executive managers with a detailed process from the initial step of research up to the last stage of marketing the brand. In the case of my fellow staff, I will approach them in a friendly tone/manner, requesting them to aid me in ensuring that my ideas receive the best implementation strategy to see their success in the end.
Establishing Credibility
To ensure that I develop credibility throughout the process, first, I will be objective. Unless one is building the brand on a platform of being idiosyncratic, it is best to take an objective approach to business matters and not get caught up in proselytization. It is especially essential to eliminate topics or subjects of conversation that do not affect the business and are not directly related to meeting my goals. My priority is to focus my energy and resources only on those tasks and assets that help me reach my goals. Another way of enhancing credibility is portraying sincerity. Optimism is an endearing trait of a capitalist, but not when it crosses the line into overzealous self-aggrandizement (Cornelissen 2017, p56). When things are going well, I will highlight accomplishments and permit the team to celebrate their achievements but will not go overboard with praise and gratitude. I will avoid presenting myself in a fake tone and just be myself, which I believe all stakeholders will appreciate.
I selected the memo channel of communication only because I felt it was the best for making announcements in the organization. The memorandum is a suitable communication style to use when creating business announcements such as an employee promotion. Businesses also use memos to welcome new employees who will play a vital role in the organization. The memo communicates the critical announcement. Electronic mail can serve as the delivery method for a memorandum. The memorandum should be written in an official business format. In this case, the memo tends to be used in announcing a new product line for the corporation. Another reason for memo application in this case was that I found it an inexpensive method of conveying the message. According to Charter (2017, p67), a significant benefit of business memos is that they are inexpensive to create. Even when business people substantially design the memo, doing so typically costs the company far less than it would to pause work entirely to hold a formal conference about what the memo discusses.
