ARTICLE SUMMARY

The respective article “Science and Creativity: Safe In-Person Events in Texas” emphasizes the fulfillment of accurate guidelines for safe in-person events combining the scientific measures and creativity to conduct such safe events with respect to the “South Padre Island Convention Centre” located in Texas. The main paradigm of the article is planning in-person events by following the safety considerations and standard operating procedures to conduct meetings, public gatherings, political events, and conventions. The proper safety guidelines should be implicated as given by the “Convention and Visitors Bureau” and the “U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention”. The main safety guidelines highlighted are the provision of hand sanitizer stations, checking of temperature, wearing masks, entrance and exit path flows, social distancing markers painted on the floors/ floor stickers, and limited capacity for indoor events. The validation of the implication of these safety protocols and guidelines is provided by “Ed Caum (executive director of the City of South Padre Island CVB), Casandra Matej (president and CEO of Visit San Antonio), and Mackenzie Borden (Phil Waldrop Ministries)”. Furthermore, Beverly Anderson who is the director of event management (Hilton Anatole Dallas) states that they faced critical problems while planning one of the first outdoor events with creative standard operating procedures against the coronavirus. The convention centers, meeting industry, and the community is strictly following the safety guidelines. The events planners are emphasizing innovative solutions for making their post-pandemic events creative and safe for the people attending. Rehearsals are mandatory for exercising these protocols to make the staff comfortable with new safety considerations and analyze the problems which can be faced during the actual event. As the time is evolving with the global pandemic, event management, and planners are working on innovative ways to follow the guidelines provided by the government and make their events safe, creative, and engaging.
