Types Of Statistics

Statistics is one of the subjects in academics that is involved. Statistics is the science and practice of developing human knowledge, it is the branch of mathematics dealing with the study of collection, analysis, interpretation, presentation, and organization of data in particular fashion, presentation of data by use of the graph, figures. The whole data is collected, and comparatively, the study is made. A statistical model is also known as the statistical population. It is used to survey a country or city’s population.

There are two types of statistics: descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics tries to summarize a set of data. Under this category, we have measures of central tendency and measures of dispersion as the key types of descriptive statistics. The median, mode, and mean are the three types of measures of central tendency. On the other hand, the variance, range, and standard deviation are the tests of dispersion. The primary aim is to summarize data from any given sample to take our mean and deviation. It helps to draw conclusions from data by checking the examples and observing errors in the experiment or in the sample. Looking at the measures of Central Tendency, the mean applies a single value to give a description of the center of the data set. The mode, median, and mean are three measures of central tendency.

The second type of statistic is inferential statistics, which allows you to take data and use it to draw conclusions about the population by sample analysis and observation. Inferential figures compare, test, and predict data. The result we get is probability, and it is used to explain the chances of occurrences of events. The function of Inferential statistics is to reach the calculation to learn about the population, which extends beyond the data available.
