Corporate Policies

  1. Annual leave policy will observe the federal laws of the parent company. The United States keeps the annual leave policy of 15 days, and due to their people’s workaholic nature, they usually attain less than what they have. In U.S. companies, a business week is comprised of more than 40 hours. Working overtime leads to a hectic schedule.
  2. TechFite must incorporate a leadership program to include leadership in young individuals and motivate them to make their environment better. This policy will include the new firm’s initiatives along with a corporate culture to meet the needs requirements of the city with the association of City Council of Dellberg.
  3. Internship and volunteer based positions must be advertised more than usual to address the issue of unemployment in Dellberg and achieve the best quality employee. These training-based programs will induce the essence of entrepreneurship in youth.

Rationale for Three Policies

First policy will adhere to the legal and cultural difference amongst the U.S. and the U.K. Both countries possess different norms and cultures regarding their work routines and employee benefits. This policy entails the financial infrastructures of the company by renewing the daily work routine policy along with the annual leave policy.

Second policy will address the social presence and community engagement of TechFite. These steps will try to make the corporate structure a little better. This will also help them to structure themselves in various terms with the city council.

Third policy will introduce an opportunity related to political leadership within the citizens of Dellberg. These programs will provide significant training for young individuals.

A2. Difference between Ethical and Legal Issues

An ethical issue is anything that a person believes to be right or wrong that generally is based on personal opinion or a person’s belief or philosophy. A legal issue is any act done by a person whether he/she thinks it is right or wrong, whether it conforms to the law and needs legal expertise. The word legal is mostly used in businesses to conform to the regulations and rules as specified in the settled law. A failure to obey such laws causes a person to be up against some legal actions. Therefore, legal issues in businesses often occur when companies and firms fail to follow the rules and regulations as stated in the corporate law.

A3. Analysis of Ethical Issues

  • Lack of funding, resulting in the absence of full-time job benefits to the hourly employees is an ethical concern.
  • Commitment fulfillment suffered due to the lack of resources and funds available, therefore, causing a social distress amongst the local youth and in-house employees.
  • The payment of excessive bonuses to the top executives creates discrepancy amongst the employees at different scales.

A4. Ethics Officer

In this scenario, the purpose of ethics office was to be a middleman between TechFite and the Dellberg community. They work internally with the company and observes the culture and work ethics. The ethics officer deals with senior management along with low-level executives for the suggested policy implementation. Ethics officer’s deal with HR to understand the designed systems and inspect all the elements related to ethics prevailing in the work culture.

B. Description of Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility is the initiative of a corporation for taking responsibility and assessing the environment and social wellness of the company’s reputation. It is the effort that goes beyond the requirements of the regulators and the groups responsibility for environmental protection. Lack of mobility, resources, and infrastructure causes problems for the community which falls under the umbrella of social responsibility. CSR ensures that a business falls in line with the ethical standards, international and national norms. Since the company’s branch in Dellberg has not fully formed a functional corporate structure, most of the policies in the interest of the company are not being adhered to.

B1. Ethical Desirability

Overall of the reputation of TechFite is has started decreasing because of the in-house of conflicts of employees with administration due to low wages and not having enough financial packages to meet their needs.

B2. Course of Action

  1. The company must follow the annual leave policy along the business week duration. It will increase the length of work productivity and reduced the need of over time which will facilitate the company to meet the financial constraints.
  2. Leadership taking the “Initiatives of Leadership” course as a mandatory part of every domain rather than providing only parts of it.
  3. Entrepreneurship will inculcate the essence of better community, self-reliance and better work culture.

B3. Ethical, Social and Environmental Responsibility

  1. The company only have cultural and legal differences with the parent firm. Along the vision of society, the cultural norms considered. Rather than, following the traditional destruction company as intended.
  2. The company must incorporate the policy of conservation of natural habitat. Any company that steps into a new marketplace faces environmental concerns depending upon the nature of the employees, customers, and stakeholders.
  3. As the company has been opened in a different country, the character and culture of employees differ from the culture of the company itself. Therefore, keeping a focus on such differences and shaping policies that benefit the organization and employees makes the employees feel at ease.
