Introduction
In this study, human behavior has been studied in the context of the social environment in terms of race, class, gender, organization and community practice, and individual family and group practices. A case study is presented in the study in order to demonstrate a better understanding of Human Behavior in the social environment. The case clearly presents underlying problems and strengths. In addition to this, synthesizing and analyzing knowledge, theory, and skills in relation to the case have been focused on in the study, which is based on human behavior and social environment, race, class, gender, community practice, and family practices.
Case Study
This is the case of a 17-year-old girl who has been addicted to alcohol for the last four years. She was suspended from school at the age of 15. By then, she had not returned to the school for education purposes. Hence, she has been unemployed since officially leaving the school. She had become bored and started to hang out with a group of youths who had been involved in offending and drinking every day. It has been observed that Sam’s Parents have become concerned about her and her future as she has been involved in shoplifting and breach of the Peace. She is now also evolving into possession of cannabis.
Problems
The case of Sam is becoming very difficult, and it is affecting the social environment in a terrible manner. She has been involved the many of bad habits that not only hit her own self but also hit the overall human environment integrity. She has been involved in shoplifting and doing so for the sake of money and breach of the Peace as she is creating a disturbance for the people. She is now also evolving into possession of cannabis, the excessive use of drugs hitting the environment in a very bad aspect.
Application Of Theory
Contingency Theory
The contingency theory has been focused in such regards. However, it is a theory that enables an individual and group to gain power and access to resources in order to control their lives, often by means of collective action. It helps the person cope with the issue and problem in an effective and efficient manner. This theory has been applied in order to assist human behavior and to mold it into the context of making a better social environment.
The Contingency theory has been engaged in such respects. Be that as it may, it is a hypothesis that empowers an individual and gathering to pick up the power and access to assets, keeping in mind the end goal to control the lives regularly by methods for the aggregate activity. It helps individuals adapt to problems and issues in a viable and proficient way. This hypothesis has been connected so as to help human conduct and shape it into the setting of improving social conditions.
Human Behavior and Social Environment
It is denoted in the study of Barth (2017) that Human Behavior is a very complex term. It is, therefore, it is not easy to understand the behavior of any person. In the given case, this behavior is not easy to understand. Her family is still in great trouble and is not able to judge the exact reason behind such behavior of Sam. It has been observed that drinking alcohol is not acceptable in the context of the social environment. However, in the given case, Sam is addicted to alcohol and taking it from her childhood, but no one knows the exact reason behind having the alcohol on a regular basis. It is very difficult to judge Sam’s behavior, and it is hitting the social environment in a very bad manner.
Hence, the author has incorporated the contingency theory enables an individual and group to gain power and access to resources in order to control their lives, often by means of collective action. It helps the person cope with the issue and problem in an effective and efficient manner (Greene, 2017). In addition to this, the application of such theory enables Sam and her family to cope with stressful situations in a profound manner. Therefore, it is becoming essential for Sam’s family to deal with the issue on an immediate basis as It has been observed that Sam’s Parent has become concerned about her and her future as she has been involved in shoplifting and breach of the Peace. She is now also evolving into possession of cannabis.
Strength and Limitation: it is the strength of an individual how much a person is capable of turning negative behavior into positive aspects in order to deliver benefits to society and create a better impact on the social environment. However, a person is bound by the behavior of another person, and it sometimes turns into a great fear of losing status and power in society (Hutchison, 2017).
Race, Class, and Gender
The issues of age, class, color, disability, ethnicity, family structure, gender, marital status, national origin, race, religion, and sex are being evaluated under this handling regarding the case of Sam. Sam is a young adult who has been addicted to alcohol from her early age. She belongs to a middle-class family. She lives in a small-centered family, and her family is obsessed with ethics and thinks about social welfare. But their habits of, Sam does not let her family stay in society in a sound manner. She has been involved in shoplifting because of the need for money. It is cited in the study of Gutiérrez (2017) that no matter from which race, society, religion or culture a person belongs, things that are not legal are not acceptable in society. It is due to the reason that taking drugs or alcohol is affecting the social environment in a very terrible manner. It is also depicted in the study of Froehlich (2017) that it is not the society that makes people’s habits worse; it is the people themselves who are responsible for making society irresponsible that turn into bad habits like alcohol and so on. People belong to different races, cultures, and norms, and society is creating differences.
Strength and Limitation: It has been observed that people who belong to an open-minded race, culture, and society will handle things in an effective and efficient way. However, the people are still limited to performing their duties for the betterment of society in their own perspective of norms, culture, and values. They are not allowed to enter into the society of any other state or religion that follows their own norms and values (Van, 2017).
Community Practices
It is highlighted in the study of Sue (2015) that there have been a number of models used in community practice. One of the last is its greater influence on mobilizing and leading the people by deducting the problem from the grassroots, or it might emphasize analyzing the technical nature of the issue in order to solve it at the macro prospect. However, the Rothman Three Model of Community Practices has been focused regard to the given case. It has been considered as one of the most influential actualizations of the social practices. Here, it must be added that the case itself represents the level of micro-prospect, and the case and issue itself is a big giant (Hepworth, 2016). Therefore, the proper community practices are highly required to focus in such scenarios. Hence, the Rothman Three Models of Community Practices is based on the three different practices including;
- Locality Development
- Social Planning
- Social Action
Thus, in this case, the social action model is the focus of this study it is due to the fact that it organized others to come to the position to take significant steps in order to put them out of danger. It is because it enables the people to stand in front of the issue in order to get rid of the situation. It has been noted that the case of Sam is quite complicated, and it is not only hitting her own self but all over the society and its environment.
In addition to this, a proper social service system based on the proper doctors, consultants, caretakers, and social workers has been focused on in order to let Sam out of the depressing situation. It is due to the fact that things till alcohol are acceptable, but shoplifting breach of the Peace and evolving into possession of cannabis are affecting both Sam and the environment (Lee, 2017).
Individual, Family, and Group Practices
Individual, family and group practices are highly important in the welfare of society, human behavior, and social environment. However, the points that covered the individual, family and group practices are stated as follows:
Individual Practices have been focused on the personal inbuilt capacity, which means how one person is willing to participate in the betterment of their own personality and society in order to create benefits in the context of the social environment (Kirst-Ashman, 2017).
Family Practices: the role of family is most important to focus it is due to the fact that the hand of the family is highly involved in shaping the life of an individual. Therefore, it is the essential duty of the family to focus on the grooming prospects of the children.
Group Practices: In addition to this, a proper social service system based on the proper doctors, consultants, caretakers, and social workers has been focused on under the circumstances of group practices in order to deliver better services to the victim. This will basically contribute to the individual success or success of the environment as a whole.
Conclusion
In this study, the human behavior has been considered with regards to the social condition in term of race, class, and sex; association and group practice, and individual family, and gathering rehearses. A contextual investigation is introduced in the study so as to exhibit the better comprehension of the Human Behavior in the social condition and aspects. The case obviously exhibits hidden issues and qualities. Notwithstanding this blend, breakdown learning, hypothesis, and aptitudes in connection to the case have been engaged in the investigation in view of human conduct and social condition, race, class, sexual orientation, group practice, and family rehearses. The case of Sam is becoming very difficult, and it is affecting the social environment in a terrible manner. She has been involved the many bad habits that not only hit her own self but also hit the overall human environment’s integrity. She has been involved in shoplifting and doing so for the sake of money and breach of the Peace as she is creating a disturbance for the people. She is now also evolving into a possession of cannabis, the excessive use of drugs hitting the environment in a very bad aspect. The contingency theory has been focused in such regards. However, it is a theory that enables an individual and group to gain power and access to resources in order to control their lives, often by means of collective action. Hence, the Rothman Three Model of Community Practices has been focused in regard to the given case. In addition to this, the overall learning of the assignment is quite interesting and is a good experience as it enables the author to see things from an entirely different perspective. The study’s understanding is significant, and it contributes to its understanding in terms of professional development. However, the Also, the general learning of the task is very intriguing and is a decent affair as it empowers the creator to see things from a completely alternate point of view.
