Does The Big Bang Challenge Christian Theology?

Most Christian churches and denominations do not formally or informally endorse the Big Bang theory because their statements of faith are solely based on the Bible for a number of reasons. Empirical under-determinism is one of the reasons why the Christian church does not feel intellectually obligated to defend the Big Bang. This is because under-determinism of the empirical data in this theory does not lead inescapably to the cosmological evidence that can settle the issue between the Big Bang and the existence of an omnipotent God who recently contributed to the creation of the universe with all the cosmological features that it actually exists (The Christian and Big Bang Cosmology). The consistency of divine actions and the occurrence of miracles have nothing to do with science and the Big Bang, as science is incapable of determining whether God has made the universe recently with all the physical evidence that His omnipotence certainly permits Him to do with special divine action or the universe was mere a result of explosion (Moritz).

However, the Christian church should integrate Big Bang cosmology with Christian theology because the weight of scientific evidence requires Christians to do so. The Christian churches can employ various strategies, including an agreement between the theological and scientific accounts of the universe, such as fine-tuning the physical components according to physical laws. It can also be employed by acknowledging creative integration between various scientific and theological accounts by proposing models that can integrate both religious insights and the empirical data of the Big Bang theory. One significant thing which I want the Christian church to know is that God has given us the incredible ability to explore His universe and discover amazing things so that we can explore scientifically and grow in our faith in God. He has established this universe to operate according to physical laws, which can only be studied through science, so they should incorporate the Big Bang in their Christian theology to intervene in the physical system that God has made to perform His actions and miracles.
