What was challenging?
Extensive research has already been conducted on break times in schools. There are two schools of thought regarding the curtailment of student’s recess time. One is in favour of curtailment, and the other is against the curtailment of the school recess. Both schools of thought have strong research conducted in favour of their arguments. It was challenging to build up my own argument/perception, siding with one school of thought. At the end of my extensive brainstorming, I decided to write against the curtailment of recess time.
What went well?
Once I formulated the premise of my research, I wrote the topic sentence against the curtailment of recess. Then, it was easy to formulate my paper, favouring my topic sentence. The extensive research conducted on my chosen topic made it easier for me to write my paper.
What did you try to do as you revised your rough drafts?
First of all, I proofread my draft to remove my grammatical mistakes. Then, I organized my draft into paragraph sections in proper order. Then, I inculcated the topic sentence in my writing to give it final writing.
What are the paper’s strengths?
The prominent strength of my paper is the incorporation of other research supporting my point of view favouring the importance of recess time. I incorporated in-text citations of other researchers’ arguments against the curtailment of recess time.
What are the paper’s weaknesses?
The major weakness of my paper is the short length of my research. I believe that it should have been a bit longer. More research in the paper favouring my argument against the curtailment of recess could have made it stronger.
