A Missed Visit To My Country House

In the 21st century, we have come across various environmental and sociopolitical disasters. The global pandemic of coronavirus and the lockdown has incited social and psychological issues in people. The implication of the lockdown and the widespread coronavirus has restricted me at home. Before COVID-19, I had visited my parents’ house twice a year. It has been one and a half years since I visited my parents’ country house. It is located on the outskirts of Pennsylvania. I have spent my entire childhood in this country house. It is designed in a contemporary English-style house. The interior and exterior of the house reflect the minimalist style. The house is surrounded by fruitful trees, grapevines, and organic vegetables. The compound is located in the centre of the area, surrounded by lush green grass. I still remember the serene and peaceful mornings when I went out for a walk with my dad’s dog, Spike. Cold wind would brush my skin, causing it to quiver. The chirping of birds and rustling of leaves would accompany me throughout my walk. When I came back home, the aroma of my mother’s pancakes would bring water to my mouth. The interior of my home is very delicate and modern. The lounge area is joined to the kitchen, making us more interactive while at home. The home is painted in matte white, which makes it look more spacious and elegant.

I have been working online from home since last winter. I am psychologically exhausted due to the implications of the lockdown. I am praying to God that I will get the chance to go to my country house and live with my parents. I miss my country house, which makes me feel close to nature and away from the hectic and demanding lifestyle of the city.
