VLOG Old Testament

These are some of the major and most exciting themes (Old Testaments)

Creation Context:

The Bible begins by stating that God is the creator of the universe. ‘God created the entire universe at the beginning’ (Gen. 1:1, NRSV alternate reading). It all began with a single word from God, and everything in the cosmos has followed. Only God is capable of creating. Personality is not an accidental, a miscalculation, or the work of a lesser divinity.

The Sovereignty of God:

The Bible is filled with references to God’s sovereignty, including assertions that He has the right to govern over all of creation. In several passages, the implication is there. Others, like the narrative of Habakkuk, push us to confront this teaching head-on and in its entirety.

Sin and Human Condition:

From a theological perspective, moral evil. The Hebrews’ monotheistic faith is inextricably tied to their transgression in the Old Testament. Sin is seen as a rejection of God’s laws and a mindset of contempt or hostility toward God.

Protoevangelium:

According to Genesis 3:15, “it shall afflict thy head, and the heel of thy foot shall bruise thy foot.” Using a zeugma in the word “bruise,” H. C. Leupold claims that this verse uses “it shall smash your skull, and you shall bruise his heel.

Covenant:

These five covenants constitute the basis of the Bible: those made with Noah, Abraham, Israelite, and David, as well as with Jesus and the New Covenant that he launched. If you want to know how the tale progresses until its conclusion, you’ll like to know these essential details.

Biblical Laws:

Among the Bible’s many laws, the Ten Commandments are the Bible’s best-known (see Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21). Murder, fornication, stealing, and delivering false evidence against a neighbour.

Israelite Worship:

Selections, frankincense, and gifts of grain. Forgiveness is achieved via sacrifices/the Genocide. The Israelites constructed altars and walked around them with reverence to honour Yahweh.

Prophets:

Among the Old Testament prophets, Joshua, Judges, Samuel, and Kings are classified as Former Prophets, while Elijah, Elisha, and others are classified as Penultimate Prophets in the Hebrew canon (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the Twelve, or Minor, Prophets: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi). (Carter et al.)

According to Christian belief, the Holy Spirit created the cosmos from nothing. That God is almighty and the origin of all life is an essential point to make. It also demonstrates that the idea of the Power of God has existed from the dawn of humanity.

As a result, sovereignty is significant because it ensures that the people have the power to choose their government and the laws that govern it. An illustration of an area indicates that the site will be respected, which is all about. Sovereignty is competence, not a right, including this definition. (Wright, 2019)
