There were several of the changes which had occurred in the society which influenced the social customs of the people living during the time of 1920s. During that time. It was Calvin Coolidge who served as the president of the United States of America. Young people mostly started to challenge the traditional practices which were given to them by their parents and grandparents. The adopted new ways of living and new ideas were binging to emerge in their minds. These new customs gained the popularity and all kind of people started to show interests in them. Meanwhile, the films and radios also adopted the change and media attention diverted towards sports heroes, court trials and wild parties rather war. That was the time when serious arts got the attention and it was active time for the artists and writers. That’s how in the history, nineteen twenties was the period where all the greatest work of painters, writers and artists had presented which is still famous.
During the presidency of Calvin Coolidge, which is considered to be influential and significant feature of American society because that time economic growth and improved standard of living was considered to be most important aspect of life. The country’s policies were all about supporting economic system and business leaders of the country. However, the greatest artists during those times had opposite views towards the society and that they were strongly against the system which is more interested in wealth and money which is making people greedy. The writers had written many books in form of protest which was destroying the culture of the America. In the same way several of the other artists had done the same way which in result produced rich amount of art and it’s still influencing the people (Kalekin-Fishman and Lauren, 10).
