I do not agree with the statement that we cannot stop the use of fossil fuel. This is because it is a non-renewable source of energy, which is bound to depletion after a certain unpredictable period. Other than that, there are also alternative sources of energy such as solar, wind, hydropower and geothermal, which are renewable and reliable as well (Turner, 687-689.).
There are various countries which are against the usage of fuel. Germany, for instance, implemented the banning of petrol and diesel cars (Suranovic, 598-608). Another country is Norway, whose aim is to bun the vehicles using fossil fuel by 2025 and sell cars which will use electricity fully. Other countries include India, France, and the UK.
Long-term impacts of banning the use of charcoal.
To the environment, there will be a significant decrease in pollution. This is because the burning of fossil fuels leads to the emission of air pollutants that are harmful to the health of people and also the environment. It also causes water pollution due to the production of Sulfur dioxide that causes acid rain.
To the economy, the oil price will reduce since the demand would have decreased as a result of burning the use of fossil fuel (Lang, np).
There will be a decrease in the diseases which are caused as a result of banning charcoal such as Asthma. Bronchitis, heart diseases among others.
Short-term effects
To the society, many will find it hard to adjust to alternative sources of energy since a lot of people are used to the use of fossil fuel source of energy. But with time everyone will have to adjust (Geels, 21-40).
With the banning of the use of nonrenewable sources, the environment will still suffer from problems like land subsidence, as a result of mining activities associated with fossil fuel collection.
There will be a rise in the price of fossil fuel since its selling will be illegalized, and the suppliers will have to raise strain hard to finish the stock, which will still be having demand from most people.
