The Particularistic President: Executive Branch Politics and Political Inequality

Discussion 4

The country’s policy is not usually dependent on the official verdict made by the president but on the full assistance by other members of the state. Therefore, the president has come to have a reliance on the large staff that is based on the white house to assist in carrying out this operation. From this, the constitution does not explicitly show or define on the practical arrangement of the bureaucracy. However, some agencies comprise the executive office of the president (EOP), they include; Office of Administration and Budget together with National Security Board, also the Body of Economic Advisors, and the White House Office, (Kriner). White House is made up of the chief advisors, those people who are close to the president with exemplified trust and loyalty, together with those who played an essential role during the election. The chief staff position is the most crucial in this docket as he or she is responsible in ensuring that the goals are achieved, through collaboration with Congress. The National Security Council (NSC), is concerned with the foreign, domestic and military policies that affect the security issues. NYC is made up of members that collaborate the institution. Also, it has a representative of the intellect and defense public members.

Additionally, Council of Advisers (CEA) on the other hand deals enormously with a complex task that involves preparation of the centralized budget that is to be submitted to the Senate. Similarly, Office of Management and Budget (OBM) is engaged in evaluating the state agencies on how they are efficiently using appropriation. Also, it deals with the conscription of the legislature of the Presidency program. Consequently, the executive branches can be checked by the Congress by monitoring and conduct review of the bureaucracy from the powers implied on them by the constitution. For instance, voting to change or regulate an agency by the Congress, as it was done in the 1980s over the EPA. Thus, this is intended to protect the public from shoddy management or waste by the agencies, by ensuring they run efficiently.
