BMW, stands for Bavarian Motor Works, is a German based Multinational company, with its headquarters located in Munich. It is one of the leading automobile production companies in the world and was founded in March 1916 by Karl Rapp.
Originally the company was an aircraft producing firm, Rapp Motorenwerke, but was later renamed as Bayserische Motoren Werke (BMW) when it halted airplanes’ production in 1945. BMW produced motorcycles initially in 1923, but later it added cars to its portfolio in 1928 by taking over a car company, Automobilwerk Eisenach. The logo of the company BMW is a circular blue and white roundel which is inspired by the propeller of the airplane. BMW is producing automobiles in Germany, Brazil, India, the United Kingdom, the United States, China and South Africa
BMW has collaborated with a lot of companies over the years which include McLaren Automotive, Peugeot and Citroen. The company sponsors sports such as Football, Golf, Rugby and other Olympic Games. BMW is a member of US Environmental protection Agency and it has been named the world’s most sustainable automotive company since 1999. BMW‘s official slogan is ‘The ultimate Driving machine’ which is true to its core.
