The piece of art chosen for this project belongs to the ancient period of the Middle East region. The painting under discussion is titled as “Burial Chamber of Sennedjem, ” and it is a scene of a ploughing farmer (The Yorck Project: 10.000- DIRECTMEDIA Publishing GmbH.). The artist of this piece of art is the painter of the burial chamber of Sennedjem. This sample of artwork was created in circa 1200 BCE and is currently found in the tomb of Sennedjem. It belongs to the Egyptian culture and is made by an Egyptian artisan. The basic source of this artwork is the Yorck Project and its dimensions are 17x 24 cm and 6.7x 9.4 inches (The Yorck Project: 10.000- DIRECTMEDIA Publishing GmbH.).

The reason for selecting this particular piece of art is that it is a pure depiction of the Egyptian culture and the ways of ploughing and agriculture back in 1200 BCE. It is an artwork which is rich in culture and provides insights into the history of farming in ancient times, especially in Egypt. The viewer can easily get an idea that farmers back then used to plough the fields using cattle and by hand. It is not only informative but holds a very significant historical background of the Neolithic revolution as well (The Yorck Project: 10.000- DIRECTMEDIA Publishing GmbH). It has many artistic elements as well, which are interesting to analyze and can increase knowledge.
