In the past half-century, remarkable technological advances have completely revolutionized the world and have transformed the lives of people. When it comes to gadgets, a long way has been covered. Among many technological developments, artificial intelligence and humanoid robots are considerably the most significant innovations that have transfigured and modernized the bulk of the world. After float glass and cordless tools, the first programmable industrial robot was installed on an assembly line of General Motors (GM) in New Jersey in 1961 (Hutchinson, Alex).
The benefits and disadvantages, risks involved, and the human-robot interaction have been under debate for a long time. However, one must understand that everything good about civilization is a product of intelligence, and artificial intelligence comes as a helping hand to amplify human intelligence and let civilization flourish as never before. Artificial intelligence (AI) has benefits not only for a certain group of people but for the majority of the people of the world, making its beneficiaries countless.
From robots in an assembly line to self-driving cars and then to three-dimensional technology artificial intelligence is in rapid progression with the ability to encompass Google’s search engine algorithms to automated weapons. With all the benefits provided, AI is still considered to be at its weak stage against general AI, where it will outperform humans, challenging them at nearly every cognitive task, and that is the primary goal that Artificial Intelligence and associated experts struggle to achieve.
Besides benefits, emerging technologies like AI and industrial robots have raised various questions to be resolved regarding employment rates and public policy. With the improvement in speed, accuracy, quality and cost-effectiveness, the application of robotics led to the displacement of a large number of workers. For assistance, In 2014, Google was valued at three hundred and seventy billion dollars with only fifty-five thousand (55000) employees, which was a tenth of the size of AT&T’s workforce in the 1960’s.

The argument is that AI and relevant technologies should be implemented to assist laborers in their jobs rather than their displacement. In accordance with such opinion, robots have taken the authority to assist people, especially women, in kitchen work, and there are supercomputers that are used in oncology to assist medical decisions, making the overall treatment much more inexpensive and efficient. Overall, Artificial Intelligence has best served the curiosity of the human mind and contributed to active learning and accurate experimentation.
The curiosity of the human mind has led him this far. Artificial Intelligence itself has been worked over since the 14th century. It all started when theologian Ramon Lull published the “Ultimate General Art,” perfecting his method of employing paper-based mechanical means to create new knowledge from a combination of concepts in 1308, followed by the work of Gottfried in 1666 (Press, Gill).
Artificial Intelligence and Robotics have made their mark in the fields of medicine, manufacturing, real-time intelligent automation, architecture, design support systems, data analytics and neuro-fuzzy systems. Not only that, robots are taking charge in medical centers, farms, the food preparation industry, classrooms, the military and all around the home. Despite the fact that AI has resulted in the loss of jobs for many, the chance of new jobs also seems possible, and it has brought quality to life, making tasks both easier and time-saving. Moreover, it is because of artificial intelligence that space exploration, flights, and study of the universe have become possible.
