Today I am a hardworking and self-motivated student at Walden trying to improve my growth and skills. As Walden has become a positive change in my life working and helping me with my studies and career. It has provided the right program to enhance my abilities and polish my skills with expert mentors and instructors who are available to consult whenever their assistance is needed. Moreover, the online resources and the great teaching skills of instructors have contributed to the advancement of the skills. The teachers are supportive whenever help is needed making proper adjustments to help the students. Hence, all the support and the resources assist me in enhancing my writing skills as well as advancing my academic career. Moreover, the timely assessments have helped me recognize my mistakes and errors in my writing as well as my comprehension skills. Additionally, the comments from peers and the instructors improve writing skills with consciousness correcting the mistakes whenever needed. I have also learned from the assessment that I can improve my writing if I proofread and revise my paper. It is a lifelong skill that will help me in polishing my writing. I have realized proofreading and revising my paper is necessary for writing. I have realized that the course has been crucial in pinpointing my mistakes and motivating me to improve my writing and overall performance in class and it will continue to enhance my writing skills by adding argumentative, persuasive, and other writing and comprehensive skills. As the course will be focusing on skills and comprehension, it will contribute to learning and improving skills. It will assist me with communication and persuasion skills to handle human beings and be helping them with accurate information. It will assist me with decision-making skills that are essential for my career and life. For instance, the course will assist me in understanding other people with compassion instead of judging them, I will be empathic.
Therefore, I promise to avail the opportunity to work hard trying on the assignments and in class to improve my skills. I promise to use all the resources and get help from instructors and peers to improve my understanding of the subject matter and skills. I promise to write my assignments on time without being lazy. I promise to change my habit of procrastination and improve my grade. I focus on learning skills that help me in the world. As all of these changes in life would help me improve my life and achieve success in class as well as in my school. It is important because it will help me smoothly complete my courses at Walden and improve my skills which not only assist me in school but help me in life. I am not going to give up before trying hard as it will contribute to my success in the end. Also, Walden has the resources in form of peers, instructors, library, and online resources that can help me in pursuing my goals. Moreover, I will assist others whenever needed to help them achieve their goals trying to positively contribute to their life.
Lastly, I want to be an active member of the Walden Community to grow positively and contribute to the growth of others. I want to seek help when I need it and help others when they need me. I can get assistance from one of my instructors to achieve my goal. Moreover, I can get help from a person who has effective technical skills. As technical skills are crucial in this current world, I want to learn technical skills from one of my colleagues to advance my technical skills. Similarly, I can take help from a Walden faculty member to assist me in my career in education. As mentors can effectively help their mentees to stay focused and polish the ideas that the mentees have, I want to get a mentor who can remind me of my goal and help me stay focused. I want a mentor who can support my education as well as my career positively contributing to my success and a mentor who motivates me to fight even if it is difficult inspiring me to be the best in what I am doing without discouraging me. However, I would prefer to have constructive criticism of my work with proper examples. For instance, if I have made a mistake instead of criticizing me for the mistake and calling me names, the mentor can help me see the mistake by working to improve the mistake. Similarly, if I am mentoring someone I want to have the ability to inspire and motivate the mentees instead of imposing my beliefs on them. Instead of criticizing the mentees for their mistake, I want to appreciate their positive attitude and not ignore the mistakes but highlight them.
To conclude, Walden is part of my life and it has positively influenced my life providing me with life skills and resources to polish them in the form of teachers and colleagues. It has provided me with a critical community where people are willing to assist each other to be succeeded academically and professionally. It assists everyone with the skills that they can use in their lives. It assists students to recognize their mistakes and improve them providing leadership skills to the students and making them critical thinkers. Therefore, the Walden community and the classes are enriching and I am very happy to be part of the community.
