Please answer the following questions:

What is the problem with asking people where they were 3 or 4 weeks prior?

The problem with asking people where they were 3 or 4 weeks prior creates many gaps in recalling their whereabouts. People tend to recall unique and exciting activities rather than monotonous activities easily. Therefore, asking people about their whereabouts 3 or 4 weeks prior often leads to unreliable responses.

What is the problem with witness statements?

The issue with witness statements is a lack of consistency by the witnesses. The witnesses may change their stories with time, which affects the progress and authenticity of the investigation and prosecution process. Moreover, witness statements may show weaknesses due to character misjudgment. For instance, Adnan Syed is popular and portrayed as an excellent and all-rounded character who is likeable by many people. However, his close associates give him attributes that turn out inaccurate. For instance, he is a homecoming king, a track star, and an EMT volunteer, which was inaccurate. This shows that these characterizations can lead to inaccurate witness statements.

Do you believe Adnan Syed is guilty? Why or why not? Use references from the podcast and cite them as podcast

I do not believe Adnan is guilty, and I would like to think he was set up. Despite his defense creating loopholes due to a lack of accountability on the timelines, Adnan tends to have a more realistic argument than Jay, who is his alibi. Jay’s definitive statements incriminate Adnan, who lacks a solid defense. However, after carefully listening to the podcast and recollecting the activities that led to the murder, it is more compelling to believe Adnan. Jay seems to have his story scripted concerning his argument presentation (podcast). However, it is easier to believe Jay since he is the only one with a vivid story and the murder charge makes the prosecution more compelled to prosecute Adnan. However, Adnan’s inability to account for the hour gap and full consideration of Jay’s testimony does not render him guilty of these charges.

Who do you think killed Hae Ming Lee and why?

Jay might have killed Hae Ming Lee and covered his actions by framing Adnan. Jay claims that Adnan had informed him of his intentions and involved him in covering his tracks. However, Jay seems to be ready to help in the cover-up instead of informing the police or any relevant authorities. Moreover, according to Jay’s testimony, his role in the cover-up doesn’t disturb him. This shows that he might have made up the story after committing the crime, even after Adnan lent him the car out of goodwill.
