Social Media and Modern Human Interactions

Digital media has become a huge part of our society. It has changed how people communicate or interact; hence, it has made the exchange of information more efficient and faster than in previous years. Studies have indicated that social media has brought people together and improved relationships between friends and families since people can communicate more often. Research has indicated that social media and modern human interaction can harm people’s ability to interact extensively face to face; therefore, it is the best mode of interaction that should be encouraged. It is argued that social media is addictive and can break face-to-face communication since many people tend to spend a lot of time reading social media updates and chatting rather than having face-to-face communication. However, social media has a positive contribution to people’s lives; it enhances time management skills, improves optimism and self-esteem, and increases productivity. Research has shown that people think that social media is a metaphor that can change our lives for the better and make us happy without looking at its real impact. Therefore, the research paper intends to look at the impact of social media and modern human interactions, focusing on how it enhances time management skills. It will also focus on how social media improves optimism, self-esteem, and productivity. Nevertheless, it intends to present the negative impact of social media and human interaction as well. It is argued that too much social media always becomes a problem in society, and therefore, the research paper shall focus on these problems, such as addictive and cybersecurity issues, and their effect on human moods and personality.
