ANIMAL TESTING AND COGNITIVE DRUGS
The social theory of natural selection known as social Darwinism by Charles Darwin. This theory applies to the society of human. The theory is a belief and in Victorian Era it became popular in England and America. In 19th century, Herbert Spencer put forward the theory of social Darwinism which means that people apply narrow interpretation in distorted and narrow concept to justify the selection of cultural system in which human are living. The popularity of social Darwinism lost its important after the World War II. This theory emphasize on the human evolution and development by the natural selection. This theory used by people to support and defend the racism, inequality and imperialism. It have no tendency of politics but still it was widely used for all the human degradation and declare that the social progress is inevitable.
The Social Darwinism promote competition in which men believes that they have to compete others in order to survive. While doing so, they don’t have to give anything to poor rather create opportunities for everyone so that they can survive. The other thing which promotes by the Social Darwinism is Eugenics, the belief that physical characteristics of humans are significant and the human brain have same set of principles. The third thing is Racism in which it promotes the concept of the superiority of one race from another. Those who believe in social Darwinism were in the favor of white race superiority from other races and they should educate others (Zwolinski, 5).
Conclusively, the social Darwinism was already existed in the minds of people and still many people believe in one’s superiority from others which gives birth to racism and inequality. In my opinion, the theory never linked with the politics nor contains any affiliation of the political position. People just used this theory in order to reinforce their own materialistic nature.
