The main purpose of this essay is to make people mindful of the immigration fallacy by demonstrating the experiences of immigrants in America. The essay depicts the hardships of immigrants to show that life can never be a bed of roses for anyone. In this world, no one can achieve anything without struggle and hard work. The beauty and necessity of hard work and struggle remain the same even if you migrate to another country or place. From his experiences, the author concluded that an immigrant’s life is neither like heaven nor hell while it is just a long journey of hardship and struggle for the betterment of the next generations. Moreover, the author also shows the determination of Chinese immigrants to give a lesson that people should not give up in any situation because life is a struggle for everyone.

The author asked him about his life and experience in America. The person explained that his life is not as effortless as assumed by his fellows in China. He said that his life is very hard and full of hardships and he has to work hard to make a living. In the end, he clarified that he doesn’t regret his decision of moving to America because he is very optimistic about the academic future of his children.

The most interesting aspect of this essay is the cultural conservation of Chinese immigrants. They remained connected to their ethnicity and reserved their culture by opening Chinese food restaurants and speaking their native languages: Mandarin and Fuzhounese, even after living for centuries in America. On the other hand, their motivation is also an inspiration for other people who wants to immigrate. The Chinese immigrants are very determined, therefore they decided to move and accepted their decision wholeheartedly without any regrets.
