Significant Challenges of Being a Parent for 2018

Parenting is not an easy task and as a parent has to understand his or her kids. There are so many children roaming the streets due to lack care by their parents and guardian compared to when parents care. Sussex indicates that “children lough 300 times more than adult in one day. Babies have unique ability to spot their mums through smell. Toddlers win the hearts of many people, other children, men, and women, therefore, wanting to hold them.” (Sussex, 2018). Children imitate their parent’s behaviors if a parent is rude a child will also become rude. Newborn babies can recognize their mothers by smell. Research conducted by the University of Texas shows that kids distinguish beauty traits and prefer pretty faces more than open faces. Toddlers mind think of the play, and they engage in activities like playing with kittens. Babies cry when diapers become wet shows that crying is a form of communication to their mothers. Parents experience challenges associated with finance, technology, and single parenting when bringing up children especially in the 21st century.

Finance

To raise a kid a parent requires money to buy clothes, diapers, food, and medication and to pay for child education. As centuries pass population is increasing and people are educated which makes it hard to secure a job to cater to the family needs. Parents at times to bear children which they can raise using small their small salaries. Education is expensive especially in the Universities level, and the bright student becomes a waste if they fail to secure scholarships. Lack of enough money makes some children start an illegal business so that they become equal to rich school makes. Parents keep on fighting in the presence of their child because they blame one another for poverty. In case a child develops conditions like leukemia, parents have a hard time as treatment is expensive and the money they earn can’t cover the hospital bill. Costly therapies make a family more broke, friends and family abandon them. A child might die to lack of money to carry out a bone marrow transplant bringing grief to parents. Parents sacrifice their lives to cater for kids, sometimes join prostitution industry where they might get dangerous diseases. Parents do hard labor to secure a better future for their child. Presser says“ begging on the street by mothers and children increases with time. Mothers will do anything for the sake of their kids, which makes them unique. Finances give parents an opportunity to provide a child with a good life.” (Presser & Harriet 2014, p. 98). At times parent faces illness so they can gain the public sympathy, begging become daily job and income source. Children step beer foot, and they fail to attend school, and one meal is enough for a day. Poor kids are used by a drug cartel and another criminal to deliver products, collect money for them and at the end get a few bucks.

Single parenthood

In the 21st century, a lot of men and women are raising their children on their own as a result of divorce, rape or abandonment. A mother or a father raising a child alone is difficult as when children become teenagers they become difficult to handle and control. When a father is building a girl child is difficult to understand her needs and thus the child source information to other people who mislead. Sometimes children despise their parents because they broke up and lose respect. Parents at times abuse their through beating and denying them food as a result of anger for a dad abandonment. Rachel says“ fathers have a hard time raising a girl child and needs a mother’s assistance for child better growth. On the other hand, it is easy for fathers to raise a boy child, as he understands them better than mothers” (Schmitz & Rachel 2016, p. 23). At times kids raised by single parents at times lack respects for other people and moral values. A girl child at times tends to become pregnant at a tender age thus adding burden to their parents. Divorce affects children’s mental health condition negatively and sometimes start using drugs like cocaine and heroin.

Technology

On a daily basis, the scientist discovers new methods and drug to control childbirth and reduce the population growth. Teenagers are educated on the usage of birth control pills in case they engage in sexual intercourse. Birth control pills react to human bodies differently, and at times they decrease a woman’s fertility. Pills cause hormonal imbalance in a human body leading to infections for example yeast and abnormal menstruation cycles. Some medicines cause bleeding which results in a lot of blood loss which takes a long time to recover. Holden says“ people population decreases as parents use birth control pills. The chemical substance in these drugs interferes with body hormone thus preventing fertilization. Long usage of birth pills can cause infertility. Hormone imbalance causes frequent yeast infection in women.” (Holden & George W, 2014)

Scientists have invented caesarian section method, a method for children birth which at times causes complications like excessive bleeding, infection of the death of a child. If doctors performing surgery make a mistake, they may harm a mother’s womb thus no bearing more children. Drugs become resistance to the human body with time meaning a mother has to seek other birth control like coil usage. Birth control pills are also leading to early menopause denying young people an opportunity to become mothers. Drugs and methods invented by scientist have chemical compounds that provide health complications at an older age.

Conclusion

Parenting needs a healthy person who can handle negative side of it and also one should be prepared mentally and financially before bringing a child into the world. Without mothers and fathers, the population will decrease, and humankind become extinct? Before using birth control pills, a person should first seek a doctor’s advice and evaluate which method his body embrace. To raise a child takes the effort of parents which means they do not give up when things become tough.
