Should Everyone Go to College? Essay

In the modern global and technological world, it is compulsory for the countries that they should have educated youth to increase the growth and development. Many states and countries give opportunities to its students to get free education throughout their high school studies. Like the developed nations of United States of America and Canada. After completing high school education, it is now compulsory for the students to get the college education and this trend is now widely and globally increasing. When the students complete their school education, it is obvious for them to join college after that and there is no other choice for them. Numerous students already know that they have to join college and there is no other way. An analysis of college education and high school education reveals that the high school’s students have no choice but to attend the college.

A student of political science named Luisa explained her feelings about the college education, and she states that “Throughout my life, I know that I have to go to the school and I have to go to the college, it is a trend, and everybody knows that. But I never focused on this thought because it is always like a trend to me. I just do it because I know that everybody is doing it and I have to do it. It is compulsory that when you completed your school, you should leave your home and joined college for four years and after that, you will be able to start your life” (Yee, April). Like Luisa, numerous college and university students agreed on the fact that they had to go to the college and they do not have any other choice. It is now a compulsory act, and everyone have to do it because they feel they have not, not because they want to. There is a much different between the two facts and this impact the student’s relations in the classrooms, affects the learning outputs and tests the beliefs of opportunity.

In my opinion, everyone should go to college, not because they have to, but they should want to. It is necessary for the growth and development of every society not only politically but also socially. Education opens different pathways of understanding, analyzing and it gives us the opportunity to become a change for our community and country.

A college degree does not ensure a job opportunity but it surely enhance and increase the knowledge and learning perspectives of the students to that they could live a better and purposeful life. But the point is that the students should want to join college without any societal and parental pressure. Society and parents are the primary contributors who lead the students to the college, even when they do not want to go. This scenario leads the students to frustration because their parents and society taught them that they should earn a college degree to live a secure and middle-class lifestyle. This way numerous students just completed their degree with less effort and attention because the purpose was not learning but to completing the degree. This perception just added a degree into the student’s life but not the learning, and they never learn the true meaning of getting that degree.

A writer argued on the fact that a worry about the nature, creation, and appreciation of sensible, practical, and analyzable actions are not only related to the philosophers and sociologists but also the society members. The society members are equally responsible for these matters, and it also includes the fact that they are responsible for the characteristics and socially managed invention of everyday affairs (Studies In Ethnomethodology). The society makes the values and belief which is followed by the society members. The idea of sending the high school students to college after the completion of school education becomes a required element of almost every society. But the wants and choices of the individuals are also crucial. The parents and community should advise the students about their future but never apply their decisions on them so that the students will learn about their choices, not by the pressure of parents and the society.

The analysis of college education and high school education reveals that the high school’s students have no choice but to attend the college. But the college students should learn and join the college on their choice except for parents and societal pressure so that the students learn without any pressure. This will enable them to get the degree as well as learning and knowledge of the global world.
