Responding to Case 2 and 3

A leader in the contemporary society is tasked with various responsibilities which keep changing. In fact, the dynamics of most business setups continue to evolve and that require leaders to have a broader understanding of all elements of management. As a consequence, a leader should have a broader scope of management matters. That will not only help in employees’ control but also make it possible to scale operations within the organization.

Case 2

Q1. Michael has the best leadership traits that every manager should embrace. First, Michael is people-oriented and that only ensures the selection of the right kind of people that presents a positive impact in his field. Michael is also compassionate. That is evident when he spends time with other individuals such as the marketing team in the organization.

Q2. Leading a group mostly requires the leader to be people-centric. Ideally, it is hard to succeed alone in most cases, and that requires individuals to emulate the actions that Michael presented. There is a need for motivation all the time to ensure that the team feels part of the organization at any given instance (Conger, 2016). Moreover, an aspect of involvement also makes it possible to eliminate the element of resistance which can as well affect the success of the organization in most cases.

Q3. Individualized leadership theory posts on the needs of the superior in any organization to offer support to the juniors. Ideally, Michael embraced that long ago since he was in a position to work with the marketing team to get the customer demand. That is the surest way to get all the relevant information that will ensure success within the organization. Ideally, customers should be the primary stakeholders within the organization, and an understanding of their demands makes it possible to grow the premise.

Case 2

Q1. Block is a leader who will continuously dictate operations within an organization without really understanding the demands of the organization. Ideally, he is task-oriented and does not place much emphasis on the way people feel. That denotes dictatorship and should never be seen within any organization in the contemporary society.

Q2. There is the need for motivation in every team, and that should come handy with the performance. Ideally, there is need to ensure that well-performing individuals within the organization get appreciated within the team. Having a realistic scope is also a critical instance that should effect within the organization (Keller, 2017).. Such a stance will make it possible to motivate the team and keep them on track. In most cases, projects will fail due to scope creep. Such unrealistic scope has not only an impact on employees but also the organization as a whole.

Q3. Succeeding Mansell requires the block to be people-centric within the organization. Being people-oriented makes it possible to get comments from individuals on how to improve operations within the organization. Such a step will also make it possible to eliminate the level of resistance, which might hurt success within the organization.

In conclusion, it is evident that the best leadership approach ensures success in every organization. There is need to remain people-centric within the organization and learn to listen to customer demands. That makes it possible to develop products that meet customer demands on most occasions. In the end, scaling operations within the organization are feasible. In the contemporary society, the primary challenge is the existence of rigid managers, who are not willing to accept other peoples’ ideas. There is need to learn that diversity is currently inevitable and learn about the best approaches to ensure collaborative leadership.
