Reading Response

The importance of this reading is that it gives an insight of the reason why actions should be separated from the species associated with them. Indeed, the content is worth reading as it acts as an opener of why people should not believe in the hearsay information but should strive to determine the factual truth. The author states something that is of great value and says that fictions could not be completely ruled out but cannot at the same time be believed wholly. The reading compares and relates in a way with other texts that the students have taken in class. In one case, the reading differs with some of the texts that consider the existence of fictions to be real and that there is no doubt about it. On the other hand, the reading relates directly to texts that claim that fictions could be there but cannot be trusted beyond reasonable doubts. Thus, the reading plays a neutral ground for the rest of the text tackled in class in regard to the subject under consideration. The author applies the ethos by being a credible source of information in that he quotes sources from which he has gotten information from. Thus, he shows trustworthy in the eyes of the audience. The information he provides is thus highly appealing to the reader and can be trusted above other contradicting claims. Again, the author does well in the use of logos, in that he applies logic in elaborating and driving his point home. For this reason, he pleads with folks to reason the issue out before taking sides about the existence of fictions. He also uses emotional tone to express himself to the audience as his style of pathos. The reading turns out to be of quality due to its originality, factual aspects tabled as well as the sufficient content provided by the author.
