Introduction
The government is considered to be the authority which governs the state or nation by developing and implementing the policies regarding the well-being of the people living in that nation or country. The understanding of the role of the government should be understood by all the people living in the country which helps in looking after the progress of any particular current authority ruling. The government is responsible for all the internal and external matter of the country including the wellbeing of people, monetary policies, managing the law and order and all the threats which are possibly can harm the states. Different fields look at the government differently according to the perspective of that particular field. This essay is compromising of the review on the government role through Thoreau’s thoughts on government and the federalist approach which leads to understanding of it.
Discussion
The business community looks at the economic role of the government, the field of law and judiciary will look at the constitution and the general public evaluate the government by their standard of living. Different countries have the different set of understanding and views of evaluating the government roles. The American history is full of political change by going through civil rights movement to external threats which had been the influential reason of internal political condition. The civil obedience was the significant event in American history which was started by Thoreau. According to his view on the government, he suggests that a government is best when it interfering the least in the matters of the state. The political condition were standing at the point which convinced people that soon the government will be reluctant to serve the people. The efficiency and the usefulness of the government was no longer be seen. The war between America and Mexico had been proven this that government is not being a useful group which can serve the America. The policies which were undertook during those times were strict enough that people’ lives were in miserable condition due to all the barriers. The policy on trade and commerce were widely criticized by Thoreau. The movement which he started by explaining that it is not necessarily that the current government should leave right away but the movement is for the reform which is badly needed. He argued that the democracy means to have the right for all people and the democracy which was being practiced during that time was practicing on the basis of majority but it should be on the conscience. People should decide for themselves what is right and what is wrong rather government should take the decisions on their behalf by their own. The restriction to that much extent during that time were influencing people to commit crime and Thoreau was against such laws and regulations which forces people to follow.
After the African American civil right movement and the civil was which was proven to be the most desperate period in the American history lead to the devastation of social and economic condition of the country. The federalist part came into being with the view that all the right to form laws and implement should be held by the center which was in the northern side but on the south side antifederalist were strongly against this view and were clamming that the rights should be distributed among all the 52 states of the America. The Federalist Party was comprises of mostly northern side who were industrialists. The southern side were those whose economy condition were depended on the farming. The main goal of the Federalist Party was to set the slaves free and give the women right to work and in the meantime, the federal will pass all the laws which all stats have to follow.
Conclusions
The best form of government where the importance should be given to people rather politician serve their own purpose according to their own will. There are several form of governments which have been witnessed by the America but they have been mostly criticized by all the wars they have been engaged with were unfair. IF we look at the current biggest problem is on the privacy right of the people which are being violated on the name of security reasons. The private life of people are not being protected by the government in fact they are themselves violating it. The government role is to protect people and in the meantime implement laws to provide justice. The right to have any opinion and all the opportunity should be given to everyone and also they should take care if any right is being violated. The understanding of the role of the government should be understood by all the people living in the country which helps in looking after the progress of any particular current authority ruling.
