Undoubtedly, everyone’s past has a mixture of good and unhappy experiences in its lap, either relating to educational institutes or workplaces. Similarly, I have a bitter experience of an unhappy situation at my previous workstation. Instead of industrious contributions, I experienced a lack of appreciation and recognition. The unnotic and unrewarding attitude of respective authorities, even putting a lot of effort beyond my job role, looked very panicky and uncomfortable. In addition, limited space for career growth proved somewhat stagnant and troublesome. Another foremost factor in this context was the communication gap; I faced at the workplace with other colleagues and managerial staff. Such a situation was really damaging concerning mental distress and stress problems. In other words, the overall professional environment caused an unhappy experience in that vicinity.
However, according to my viewpoint, several steps could have been taken to improve the employees’ satisfaction and to enhance their working capacity. There would be an employee recognition plan in the organization and the respective authorities make it sure to reward hardworking employees through verbal appreciation, incentives, bonuses or promotions, etc. (Ali & Anwar, 2021). Secondly, there would be a fixed path of career development where necessary training are arranged for transparent promotions and enhancing the capacity of employees. Finally, the concerned authorities should establish a regular channel for open communication between employees and managerial slots.
Moreover, to improve the low ratings as the new CEO of a company, I will create an employee-friendly environment. For example, as CEO of “Family Dollar Stores”, I will set employee training and development center for comprehensive and integrated training sessions. In addition, there would be such a schedule to create a balance between life and work along with establishing a strong feedback mechanism by the employees’ community. Similarly, as a new CEO of “The Fresh Market”, I will improve salary and benefits packages along with refining work schedules. In addition, there would be team building activities by engaging the employees to take initiative.
