Privacy is one of the basic rights of every human and therefore I believe that it must be protected in all circumstances. Certainly, no one can comprise the privacy of anyone because it badly impacts the emotional state of individuals. Regardless, of what type of privacy issues are, they all have the same effect and consequences in terms of the response of those whose privacy is threatened. Moreover, in this digital world when there are numerous tools available to interfere in the private life of others, it is extremely important to establish a specified set of rules and regulations which ensure that the individual’s privacy is protected. So, whether we are staying at home, or using online platforms to engage with others, all corresponding authorities are responsible to protect the relevant data which can potentially be misused.
However, when we are living in a community, it is our fundamental responsibility to respect the privacy of others and avoid interfering in their personal lives. I personally, cannot tolerate any kind of such activities no matter if it is even done by my friends or relatives. I have faced such a situation many times and therefore I am now very concerned about my private matters online as well as in person. For instance, a year ago, one of my classmates asked for my help to make him a phone call because he did not have a mobile balance. Trusting him, I handed over my mobile to him instead of dialing the required number myself and went to drink water. He thanked me. when I came back and I also did not notice anything strange. After a few days, somehow, I came to know that he has contacted one of my female relatives and also has her photos. Then I realized that he deliberately checked my gallery and contact list and stole my personal data which is really an unethical practice. Just imagine that I am helping my friend and in response, he is accessing my private files when he does not necessarily have any concerns.
After a series of such incidents, I have become very conscious of my other private matters as well, and therefore, I never allow anyone to meddle in my personal matters. Not only this, I take extreme measures to ensure that my all online activities are fully protected. So, I use trusted websites and applications only to avoid any privacy concerns in the future.
