The image chosen is not credible DICOM for diagnostic purposes as the information presented is incomplete.
- Brightness
The image is too dark as the lateral malleolus cannot be viewed properly.
- Contrast
The image contrast is too low, and the darker and the lighter hues aren’t much differentiable, manifesting the overall image dark.
- Spatial Resolution
From the technical perspective the spatial resolution, in fact, is the measure of how many pixels have been used to make up the image. For diagnostic purposes, spatial resolution is the ability of the image to show minute details. Thus, the selected image has a lower spatial resolution, lateral malleolus insertion point cannot be viewed.
Comparing the selected image with the image having the higher spatial resolution.
- Distortion
As the boundaries are distinctly identifiable and the actual shape of the tibia and fibula can be estimated so the image has no distortion.
- Positioning
The image shows the positioning error as the projection fails to demonstrate the anatomical structures. The outer margins of the structure aren’t included within the IR margin.
- Presence of necessary anatomy
The medical specialist cannot reach out to any conclusion as the image is not demonstrating the proximal end of the tibia. Also, the knee/ankle joint condition cannot be visualized as the knee joint is also missing. Thus, the anatomical demonstration of the lower limb is incomplete.
