Human Rights: Child Labor

Introduction

Human rights are a burning issue around the world. Human Rights is a broad term. It covers all the rights that human beings demand from the society. Norms and moral principles that standards are set by municipal and the international law. Each state set rules and policy for their people that gave their fundamental rights. It is the right of every individual that they live free from any pressure . There are a many non-governmental organization that works for the human rights, and they are very influential (Stephens, 2017). These non-governmental organizations play a decisive role in human rights.

Human Rights more highlighted after World War Two (WW2). After the end of world war two United Nations emerge and play an essential role in the world politics and social issues. In 1948 United Nations passed the universal declaration of human rights. In history, there were many attempts taken to protect the human rights, but the United Nation universal declaration on human rights play an essential role in this regard (Hindman & Hindman, 2014). At International level UNHRC (united nation human right commission) play a significant role in the human rights and the human right issue. UNHRC is an international body that works under the umbrella of United Nations work for the human rights around the world.

Defining Human Rights

Human Rights all those rights which are the fundamental rights of every individual without any discrimination on any bases. Every human has their fundamental rights without the bias of religion, color, sex, racism, nationalistic bases and also due to language. Human rights mean that we have freedom from any discrimination and we have a right to live life with own will no other one can pressurize or snip over fundamental rights. Certain bodies work to protect the fundamental human rights. There are many governmental and non-governmental organization who works on the human rights. These organizations play a positive role in this regard.

Human Rights and International Organizations

There is a close relationship between human rights and international organization. International bodies or organization such as United Nation play a significant role in this regard. United Nation have a lawmaking, law implementing and law enforcing bodies. United Nation general assembly is a law making the body, for the membership of any other United Nation agency or organ, you must be a member of United Nation General Assembly. United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) is a platform for the whole world they sit together and resolve the global issue that issues may be bi-lateral, tri-lateral or multilateral. UNGA give a plate form where you solve problems through peaceful means (Fussler, Cramer & Van, 2017).

UNGA play a vital role in maintaining peace and resolving issues such as humanitarian issues. The UNGA have 193 members countries. Head of states or head of government of member states meet once in a year. Where all the problems discussed that face by the globe and make policies through which issues will be resolved through peace full means(Fussler, Cramer & Van, 2017).

Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a great peace of Human Rights, and it is considered as a most significant achievement in the human rights. UDHR is a resolution of United Nation General Assembly (UDHR) which passed on December 10 1948 in the capital of France. It is a comprehensive resolution which plays an essential role in the human rights around the world. This excellent document of human rights is translated in almost five hundred languages around the globe it gave fundamental principles in the field of human rights.

UDHR is a comprehensive document and it discussed all the human right issues and gave the necessary standard in all field of life. UDHR discussed the economic rights of the peoples, political rights, civil rights and also a social reason conferred. All the human rights issues that we faced in our daily lives and set the primary standards regarding the human rights which is essential for the humans and it is the responsibility of the government that to ensure these fundamental rights to every individual.

Human Rights Council

Human rights council is a new body of the United Nations that established on March 2006 by the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA), Human Rights Council (HRC) replace the old organ United Nation Commision on human rights that work in the field of human rights before the human rights council (Stephens, 2017). Now human rights council play an essential role in protecting the human rights and related issues. This council plays a vital role in this regard.

Economic, social and cultural rights

In 1976 the international covenant on social, economic and cultural rights of the peoples of the whole globe entered into force, and at the end of 2016 this international covnant has one hundred and sixty-four states. That covenant also seeks to promote global issues and also protect that human right.

  • The right to work in a favorable condition that suits you according to international standards.
  • It is the fundamental right of every individual to get education and freedom of culture.
  • Protection of social rights of every individual without any discrimination and gave international living standard for everyone.

Civil and political rights

The political and Civil right covenant is an optional protocol that entered into force in 1976. At the end of two thousand and ten, there are one sixty-seven states are the parties to this international covenant.

In 1989 the Second Optional Protocol was adopted.

This international covenant deals with the civil rights freedom of speech; it is the right to freedom of movement, everyone equal before the law, right of free and fair trial, freedom of thoughts and freedom of expression, freedom of opinion and participate in the electoral system (Dahl, 2017). There is no discrimination in every sphere of life all peoples are equal.

According to the universal declaration of human rights. Primary education is the fundamental right of every individual; if the government cannot provide the necessary education to every individual, it is the violation of human rights (Forsythe, 2017). The government cannot give primary free education to all the member of the society the individual that has not the ability to got education their economic cannot provide the necessary education it is the responsibility of the government to support them (Fussler, Cramer & Van, 2017). Due to weak economic condition, a child cannot go to school in the result they move towards child labor to support his family financial condition.

CHILD LABOR

Child labor means a child who works in different workplaces under the age of fifteen consider as child labor or a worker that have less than fifteen consider as child labor.

Child labor is a serious issue that got attention from both governmental and non-governmental organization. There are proper legislation and have laws that protect the child labor but due to the high rate of poverty and unemployment child labor cannot end.

Child labor is a very issue issue around the world; the ratio is higher in developing nation as compared to the developed world (Hindman & Hindman, 2014). The leading causes of child labor are unemployment, poverty, and inadequate education facility. In third world state, the education system is weak, and the primary education are not entirely free, and the economic situation of the peoples are not so sound. Due which that, the ratio of a child labor is high in the third world as compared to the developed world.

Economic factor has a more significant contribution to the child labor. Due to poor economic conditions, parents cannot give primary education to their child and government have not proper procedure through which they facilitate these low-income families. In the result due to lack of economic resources, these child works at different workplaces such as hotels, auto workshops and works in homes (Hindman & Hindman, 2014). In these places the ratio of child labor is high. If the economic condition of the family is better the rate of child labor was low.

The primary education and necessities are the fundamental right of the individual, and government need to gave basic education to every individual of the society (Holgado et al. 2014). Primary education is must be free if the government gave essential education free it helps to reduce child labor.

Government needs gave free primary education and also fulfill all the requirements that help to reduce child labor. The government takes strict action against the child labor and implements these laws (Holgado et al. 2014). Along with government other social groups and non-governmental organization play their useful role to reduce the child labor ratio. Non-governmental organization plays an active role in this regard.

Civil society also plays a useful role in reducing the child labor. Civil society needs to pressure-rise the government to take strict action against the child labor, make proper policies that are ground oriented that help exactly to reduce child labor. Civil society take active and practically participates to minimize the child labor (Dahl, 2017). Civil society has a potential to change the figure of child labor.

Role of international organization or INGOs (international non-governmental organization) international organization and INGOs play a significant role in the child labor (Forsythe, 2017). The ratio of child labor is high in a developing world where the economic conditions of the peoples are poor it is a fact that economic factor plays a vital role in the child (Smith, 2018). Time the demands that the international organization gave more funds to the third world on education projects that helps to reduce the rate of poverty.

An international organization like United Nation plays a vital role to reduce that high ratio of child labor in third world states (Forsythe, 2017). It is an alarming condition we need take joint action to remove this evil; child labor is social evil that hits the basis of the society. If this evil cannot be removed at that time its badly affect the globe. It is an era of globalization the issue or incident occurs in one part of the world can disturb the whole world (Smith, 2018). Child labor is a social illness and creates many other social problems such as poverty, low literacy rate and unemployment. All these social evil are interconnected, and the basis of these social problem lies in economic factor or poverty.

If the society have a s ound economic condition, low poverty, low unemployment rate and high literacy in the result there is a minimum rate of chid labor in that society (Hindman & Hindman, 2014). Financial status and Education play a remarkable role in this regard. The economic condition and education facilities have a very close relationship with each other. If the financial condition of the people is better peoples and they are economically sound they cannot sand their children to work in different workplaces and on the other if there is excellent education network and the primary education is free of cost they also help to reduce the rate of child labor. The child labor has a high ratio in those countries where the education facilities and the economic condition of the peoples are not excellent (Hindman & Hindman, 2014). These two factors play a remarkable role to reduce child labor.

Government and non-government organization needs to more focus on education and economic condition of the people if the people financial conditionof the people is batter and there is free education for it positively affects to reduce the ratio of child labor from the society(Holgado et al. 2014).

You cannot ignore the role of society to reduce ratio of child labor from the society.Society has played a significant role in this regard, if there is a trend in the community to give their children a primary education and cannot sand them for work, it helps to reduce child labor. The role of society cannot be dismissed, its need that social campaign starts against the child labor. Societal pressure forces helps to motivate the parents that you gave primary education to your children not sand them in workplaces. Highlight the needs and importance of the study; if the people have proper aware-nance of education they cannot sand their children at work, they first give education. Learning is a way through which we reduced the ratio of child labor.

Conclusion

Human rights are the fundamental rights of every individual which is equal among all the peoples of the world. Human rights include civil, political, economic and social rights. It is right of every individual to get primary education, and it is the responsibility of the government that gives primary education free without any discrimination. School education is one of the fundamental human right, the countries have high literacy rate that have low social issues and problems. The states have low literacy rate and poor economic condition that have a high ratio of child labor. Child labor causes many other issues, and it is an important issue we need to resolve this issue.

Many actors play a vital role in this regard. Government and non-organization organization play an essential role in this issue. The government needs to make strict policy and laws about child labor. The government needs to use direct and indirect means to achieve this goal. Non-governmental organization and other major groups such as civil society pressure rise the government to make policies and laws that help to reduce the child labor. International organization also play an important role to reduce the ratio of child labor. The rate of child labor is high in the third world states and international organization needs to more focus on the third world and gave maximum aid and assistance to these under developing states to reduce child labor. Child labor cannot mitigate by adopting a single solution its need to take all the possible actions that need to reduce the rate of child labor.
