GLOBAL WARMING ACCORDING TO ACIA

According to ACIA, since 1978, the Arctic sea ice has shrunken by 9 percent per decade. It consequently has affected other ice-beds as well, and due to severe melting, it is causing a rise in overall sea/river levels. These elevated levels of sea levels are a threat to the United States (in particular Florida and Louisiana) and people living near coastlines. Global Warming is also contributing to altering the weather patterns of the world and intensifying floods, tsunamis, and other natural disasters. A study out of Europe has shown that plants now flower a week earlier than they did in the 1950s. Global warming is also causing animals to breed earlier than they are usually required to, and hence, it is damaging their ecosystem and habitat’s natural setting. These changes may cause harmful alterations in the future, and some of the delicate species may end up getting extinct. Global Warming is caused by Greenhouse Gases that have been sharper since the 1950’s due to augmenting industrialization, intense use of fossil fuels, and air pollution. While water vapors are the most critical Greenhouse gas, High levels of CO2′ (Carbon Dioxide) by the burning of fossil fuels, emission of CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons), and harmful pollutants that cause Ozone depletion are primarily causing a rise in temperature in our atmosphere. As initiated in the COP23 conference of the United Nations in 2017, countries around the world are committed to reducing world temperatures by 3R’s (REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE) method to mitigate the burning of fossil fuels and reduction in emission of CFCs. Planting more trees may also help in the reduction of global warming as trees absorb extra heat and CO2 from the atmosphere. Promotion of renewable clean energy and usage of bio-fuels etc. should be made accessible and cheap for a smooth energy transfer from the traditional fossil fuels.
