According to Gazda et al. (2001), follow-up is an important monitoring program that can be used by counselors to assess the effectiveness of the educational processes and programs that are used to fulfill the educational needs of students. Moreover, follow-up is a formal as well as well-organized and systematic process used for monitoring the progress of current students on an individual basis who have undergone academic counseling and advising. The main purpose of follow-up in counseling is to determine the improvement and status of students enrolled in different courses as well as classes.
Solution to question # 2:
According to Gladding (2003), the counselor can use various tools as well as techniques for carrying out the follow-up process in an efficient manner and each technique has numerous benefits along with disadvantages. The follow-ups that I might implement are interviews and questionnaires. I will conduct interviews with the students to determine their progress and the different issues that are faced by them. Face-to-face interviews will be highly useful because they will enable us to understand the facts through facial expressions as well. The questionnaire will also allow for following the progress of students.
Solution to question # 3:
The information will be received by implementing various follow-up techniques, and this information can be used in making effective plans to improve the curriculum, which will lead to better teaching, add to the value of the guidance services, making and maintain effective community relationships.
