Democracy in America

In studying democracy in America, we need to design methods, research design as well as the reasons for choosing them.

Methodology

Qualitative method can be applicable as a method of studying this topic. Different people from various organizations can be examined to reveal how far democracy has been effected. Quantitative method may also be used as some data may be required in numeric, for example the number of respondents.

Design

Mixed research design can be used in analyzing the data received from the qualitative and quantitative research methods. This method complements the strengths of a single design as well as overcoming the weaknesses of a single method.

Rationale

The reason for using qualitative methodology is that most of the data expected to be collected is in form of expressions and not numerical. For analyses, such information will be easily done using this method. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods will make the analyses and thereafter conclusions and recommendations very simple.

Mixed research design is applied here so as to look at the data from various perspectives. This method ensures that the data will be critically analyzed and that all data is taken care of.
