Insight the Perfect Wall Article Analysis
Joseph Lstiburek is Canadian engineer and has a good experience of working over the indoor air quality and moisture control. ASHRAE Journal has produced his paper, Insight, the Perfect Wall in which he has focused on the walls designs which can prevent the effects of outside environment on the indoor atmosphere. The main aim of the paper is to analyze the article respect to the architectural improvement critically.
The article has given a concept of a perfect wall in which there are multiple layers and engineered gaps which would help in air control, thermal control, and ultraviolet screening. There is a discussion that the walls are similar to the roof and slabs as they function the same, protecting inside from outside effects[1]. Approximately all the required parts of the architectural design problems are highlighted in the article in which the design of the walls, roof design and the connectivity of the wall and roof[2]. The concept would gain popularity because of naming his wall structure as the 500-year wall in which he has explained that reasons that this wall was designed upon 500 years of different evolutions and will also last for the next 500 years because of its structure and sustainability[3]. Since it is a basic requirement to explain the use of these walls as well which is also demonstrated that they will be used in the special structures like the museums, art galleries and libraries for the protection of expensive and ancient antiques.
On the whole, the article is well formed, and everything was adequately explained within the flow. In contrast, there are some missing things which must be included in the attraction of the future users of this concept. The enhancement of this idea is necessary and should be specified precisely.
