Coal is the Future Essay

Introduction

Coal is a fossil fuel used for burning. Officially, a number of different developed as well as under developing nations are burning coal for power supply and heating the furnaces. There are several uncountable benefits of coal including the cheaper in price and easy to access. Due to the excessive burning of the coal since centuries, it resulted in the global warming and the increase of a several number of issues. One of the highly concerned issues is the environmental issue with the coal. The increase of the usage of coal would result in the increase in a great number of environmental issues in which the most prominent are pollution, global warming and uncertain whether forecasts. A great number of people have discussed and analyzed the impacts of coal power plants in the society and have raised their voices in both against and in the favor of the coal utilization. In a general point of view, it is discussed that since, coal mining pollutes the physical environment of the area and its burning causes the addition of toxins in the air which are harmful for the life on earth. The main aim of the paper is to discuss the issue related to the coal, its importance and some arguments which would help in clear illustration of these problems.

Discussion

The issues regarding coal, its mining and its burning were not recognized so clearly during the time of industrial revolution in all over the world. In the recent twenty years because of the frequent climatic changes and the unpredictable a sudden increase of the global temperature. The scientists have analyzed that coal mining and coal burning on the industrial scale is the major cause which is acting as a catalyst for causing the change in the global settings. It is a tradition that every small issue is enhanced and presented in the form of a disaster (Uvaisova, Sh S., and U. R. Mahanbetova, 4-6). Global warming is caused by a number of different natural and manmade sources and there is a very less percentage of the coal’s existence in creating global problems. Due to the negative debates, coal power plants and furnaces are closing. Since coal is widely available in approximately all parts of the world. Its utilization could not be stopped at all. There are millions of dollars spent by the developing as well as developed nations.

Positive aspects

The benefits of the coal are outnumbered and were used highly for the heating of the power plant’s boilers. It is one of the best, reliable, long lasting and cheapest ways to generate the electricity in all over the world. Initially the electricity was generated by thermal power plants in which the burning was performed through the coals (Xue et al., 15779).

Currently the steel production is dependent on the coal up to 74%. Coke coal or metallurgical coal is used in vast quantities in the production of steel. This dependence is highly observed by the analysts and they have estimated that coal is the best source for the production of steel and all the other ones are costly if they are used for the worldwide production of steel. The other sources are estimated to be costly and unreliable. The electric arc furnace needs high levels of energy consumed and same as the open hearth route. Both of them are rarely implemented. There are many other manufacturing and production industries which are totally dependent on the coal.

One of the most important social and economic benefit of coal mining, burning, transportation and dealing is that’s millions of people are associated with this industry. They don’t have any kind of skills but they have spent years for that industry. Coal is nothing more than the ancient forest’s wood remained under pressure for millions of years.

Issues

Global warming is one of the cruelest impacts of coal burning. It is estimated that after the industrial revolution, there was so much coal being mined and burned which was even greater than the overall earth’s history.

Pollution is also another main issue which has caused the overall global atmosphere unsustainable. The climatic changes are observed and the uncertain change of the whether forcast is also seen in all over the world including china, United States and countries on Atlantic and Indian Ocean shore (Mishra et al., 425).

Refutation

The globe’s future is not certain according to the science. There would be possible that a great comet would be coming and hit the earth to end up everything or a great earthquake is growing in the middle of pacific and would be able to kill everyone. Coal is a minor issue with respect to these concerns. The contribution of coal in global warming is not as high as per explained on the media covers (Kleshchevskii & Gupta, 67). The causes of global warming are many. For the protection of a huge number of people’s jobs, as well as giving an access to cheaper way to manufacture the products, coal is necessary to continue as it is the future.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, it can be explained that, regardless of a number of negative impacts perceived by the increase in the coal mining and burning, there are many positive aspects as well. Most of the analysts who had arguments have mentioned that sudden close of the coal mining and burning would stop an entire world and there would be a great system which would be disturbed that’s why there are no actions taken yet for the end of the coal mining and utilization. Mining the coal is never a sinister and people are doing this for centuries for domestic and commercial purpose.
