Children Interaction Essay

A child is an innocent person who learns in the process he or she grows. Molding of the child’s character should be done at this level since it is a stage where the child requires close monitoring and supervision. The child should be trained in ways which he should not depart from and will ensure his growth. The people entitled to the responsibility of taking care of the child should be ready to sacrifice their time and resources. A child is like an investment that a person makes. The child will require spending which forms part of the day today requirements of the baby. He requires attention and monitoring to ensure that he grows in a healthy way. Sufficient resources should be availed to allow the child know the importance of having a parent around him.

I was granted the opportunity to interact with Pablo. As I socialize with the child I observe his moves and habits. It was never easy at first, I had to approach Pablo’s mother to be granted an opportunity to interact with him. As usual many kids do not accept a stranger and it has to take time for them to adjust and recognize you. During the first 30 minutes of my time I had a task of making the child trust me and make myself a good friend to him. Pablo is four and half years. The child was in his second level of development. It required employment of expertise that will help in the observation process.

The most interesting part is that the little things a person does to a kid always draw him close time by time. I managed to convince the child and gained trust. He accepted me once I offered a sweet to him. The child is choosy since he only interacts with you if he is used to you. I noticed that it was easy for the kid to fair along with other kids rather than grown up individuals. According to Erikson, the child is at a preschool level. It is a level where the child is yet to begin his education. Pablo is at this level and soon will be joining school. At this point the child tries to imitate what other people around him are doing. He tends to utter words that are suggestive of school going. He also picks and holds a pen like one who is ready to write. The child has various characteristics that enable a person to have a clear observation. Some of the features could be uniform across a series of children whereas some of the features are unique to every child. Often, children tend to have similar characteristics which help in the creation of a similar tendency to be observed. The child will have changing behavior which change according to the environment in which he is at a specific time.

At first the child’s mood changed due to the new face he met. The child cried and really wanted to stay next to the mother. The kid wondered the stranger who approached him. He wore a sad face that almost broke to tears. The child almost cried. Although with time he became a great friend since I managed to win his heart. The mood adjusts with the environment in which the child is at a particular moment. It also depends on the status of the child. Status such as how the child fares, whether sick or not. The child reaction will always depend on how good a person is when talking to young children. children will always not want people who are harsh and tend to be rude to them.

The child had some rushes in the skin and had running nose. I touched the forehead of the child and it was hot. The various observations could be an indication of a problem within the child. Such symptoms observed are diagnosable. Therefore, the child was supposed to be monitored very closely to identify the problem he had.

The appearance of the child depicts his character and behavior which is welcoming. The child was lively in as much as he was afraid at first. I felt the child needed attention and he was supposed to be put on diet. The kind of food given to him should be a diet. Diet food helps to clear skin rushes since the child will have all minerals in his body.

The child has a secure degree of attachment. He is closely linked with all that he does. The child is very keen and eager to learn. He is very sharp and this quite makes him different from other kids have met before.

The experience is exciting since it helps to learn the needs of the children and understand the complex nature of the children. Children are complex creatures that require attention and knowledge to handle. They are complex in terms of what they do, what they eat, when sick and even when they interact with other people. The mother is the only person who knows her child better than anyone else but to an extent some do not understand their children. What needs to be done is to spend most of your time with the children so as to understand them perfectly. Understanding the will help you know what they are undergoing and even be able to tell when they are not feeling well or something disturbs them.

The family of Pablo has a humble background. The parents are casual workers paid based on the hours and the task performed. The family comprises of four children, two boys and two girls. Pablo is the last born among the children. Pablo’s father works from Monday to Saturday due to the nature of the task he performs. He rarely gets time to spend with the family since he is always busy looking for money to sustain his family. The first born is a girl who is in college, the second born is a boy who is in high school, the third born is a girl who is in the lower level classes and the last born is Pablo who is yet to join school. The mother says that they run a shop that sells basic commodities. She operates the shop after work in order to support their four children.

According to Erikson the infancy period is the period between birth dates to eighteen months (Wells, 1986). At this time the mind of the child is empty and begins to capture some images. The mother is so close to the child to ensure that the child receives all maternal care and requirements. The next level where the Pablo is currently is the preschool level. It is the level before the child is taken to school.

Engaging the child was the best thing that has ever happened. I feel like I helped the mother to learn a lot of things about the child. The mother realized some of the problems the child faced through my presence. It is interesting to learn how a child thinks and reasons. He follows all instructions you give. The time spent made me learn many things related to children. Things that require only contact with the child so that one understands better.

My strengths are my weaknesses too. I am capable of convincing someone till the situation turns out to be real. I managed to change the mood of the child from sad mood to a smiling mood. The child’s mood adjusts with circumstances and at times making it difficult to tell whether the child is sick or not. Sometimes the child can be quiet and this can be a good implication of the child not feeling well. Close monitoring is important since it will have the parent understand the problems the child might be facing. I was capable of observing Pablo and realize the problems he had. I noted something about diet and the clothing of Pablo. The rushes in the skin had an implication and the running nose implied that the child is not kept warm. Similarly, most children communicate whenever they are in pain.

Adjusting to the needs of the child became a challenge especially when I was handling the child. He was playful and could not hold to his demands. The child changes his moods sudden and realizing what he is up to at particular point in time. Understanding the child required more time which could enable one to learn all his likes and dislikes. The other challenge was inconsistent communication since understanding one another at one point became a challenge. Mothers have challenges in raising children due to their complicated nature. The baby grows in stages as indicated by Erikson developmental theory.  The basic impact is felt in the performance of the child as he grows. The mind of the child will grasp new things every day and the mind becomes a house of knowledge.

The fun part was when the child was playing. He plays as if the day will not end. He encouraged me and made me to stop thinking of my problems but to start thinking of the solutions to the problem. The baby made friends especially to those who looked friendly to him. He utilizes the opportunity he has to make his day a great day. The little time I spent with him I learnt of many things that I am yet to identify the latent meaning. The child needs food and needs good health to keep him growing. The difficult part is when the child goes mute and you fail to understand what happened. For some reasons the child would start crying over other children toys. The toys seemed to be amazing although to him he felt unwanted because he lacked some. The important part is when he grasps the play toys and starts laughing by him (Clayton, 1975).

My first meeting with the child did not appear as if it would be a success. The child seemed not to be understanding. I had to take a step and try to convince the child to accept and share with me. I bought a toy and even gave the child some sweets in order to have his attention. Little did I know that what I gave him was his favorite and kept him smiling. The convincing power I had helped me to capture the child’s attention. It was the best thing I ever did that made me smile and also made me realize the achievement I had made.

The child is young and to an extent no much privacy is needed. I would approach the mother and advise her on the condition of the son. I would also advise her to go for diagnosis to enable her ascertain the problem the son is facing. The mother needs to ensure that the child eats diet. The treatment I would prescribe is balanced diet and ensure the child has all minerals in him (Vogel-Scibilia, McNulty, Baxter, Miller, Dine, & Frese, 2009).

The parents need to participate to ensure that the process is successful. They should take time with their children. They should also ensure that food is available for the children to consume. They should follow prescribed instructions to the latter to allow the child have a healthy life. I would like to see the child and the parents occasionally.

The aim is to check on the improvement of the child and also advise on the measures to undertake after a certain period. It is also important to check on the progress of the child. the aim is to ensure proper coordination between the parents and the children. Having a mandate of ensuring the well being of the child, it is important to give advice to the parents on how to handle the child at various levels of his growth. In particular, the best meals to give to the child to stimulate his growth and assist in the brain maturity and exposure should be monitored and availed. The type of food changes at different point depending on the age of the child as he undergoes the growth cycle. The child requires more energy giving food to aid in metabolism and also supports his growth.

Working with the child requires legal issues and ethical issues that guide the operations conducted with the child. The law regarding children must be observed. The rights of the child must not be infringed. The child is entitled to good health, education, food and parental care. The health part requires parents to ensure that the child receives the basic needs and does not strain in the growth. The child needs to start receiving primary knowledge that will help the child realize that he is growing (Puckett, & Black, 2000). The love of the parents is important and will always attract the child’s attention. The child will require pictorial information that will hasten the ability to recall and learn. It is a genesis of the learning program of the child.

In conclusion, most parents are concerned about the health of their children and others do not. They tend to provide the basic needs to the children but do not give the attention which is key to the growth of the child. A child clinic visit is important as it covers the health side of the child. the nurses will advise on the best way to handle a growing child. The children should be given the first priority since they are the future generations. Health education is important to mothers as it helps the mothers know the right steps to take in upbringing the children. The government should chip in to assist on matters children. They should create programs assist in the growth of the children. Parents must be ready to take up responsibility and ensure that they do their best to raise their children. Various organizations formed should be ready to help finish the issues that relate to children. Issues that relate to poverty which is a source of poor education and lack of basic needs should be covered by the organization.
