Barriers to Conflict Resolution in the Central African Republic and Alternative Strategies to Overcome Such Barrierss

Conflicts in various parts of the world pose key significance in the field of international relations, and require deep empirical approach of study to devise realistic solution to resolve these emerging conflicts. Similar, is the case of Central African Republic. There are certain hurdles in the way that ignite the intensity of the conflict, and needs demand research based study to get it resolved. [1] Therefore the study emphasizes on resolving the conflict through alternative conflict resolution techniques, using alternative methods.

Research Question or Hypothesis

Identifying and analyzing the barriers in the Central African Republic and developing alternative strategies to overcome the barriers in resolving the conflict through the cited useful strategies.

Objective of Research Project

The research study aims at analyzing the multiple barriers that exist in the Central African Republic, together with identifying and suggesting means to get rid of these barriers using alternative conflict resolution techniques. The study encompasses deep insight into the issues, using qualitative research approach using realistic data.

The rationale for Research:

The study poses great importance in the field of the study as it emphasizes and realistic findings based on rigorous research based study. The researcher possesses sufficient background knowledge of the ongoing conflict in the Central African Republic and its multiple dynamics. Based on the existing expertise, and research background in the specific field the researcher will contribute to the existing literature in the field of conflict study. Moreover, the issue is very pressing and need immediate actions plans based on empirical findings, in a bid to avoid further destructive consequences resulting into intensifying the conflict.

Research Methodology

The research methodology of the study encompasses qualitative approach. To collect preliminary data about the conflict, the research will travel to the site, and conduct survey study by interviewing experts and locals who have the first-hand experience of the issues. Moreover, the population of the study is the people of Central African Republic, whereas the representative sample of experts and locals will be chosen as respondents. [2] The study will be conducted with researcher input using factual data, by travelling to the target area, and indulging in useful discussion to draw effective conclusions. After surveying the site and interviewing themes would be extracted based on the collected responses, to draw final conclusion followed by realistic recommendations that will be prove to be useful and promising in resolving the said issue.

Detailed Timeline or Plan of Action, Research Activities, and Deliverables: (If foreign travel is involved, include a detailed itinerary.) If you are requesting money for travel, specifically detail why travel is required for your research.

The study involved complete sequence of activities that will start initially planning and scheduling face, whereby exact date will be determined to visit the study areas, in order to gather preliminary information that is used for further research and in-depth investigation. Furthermore, the initial face of analysis based on the collected information will determine whether further visits are required to further authenticate the findings. The researcher will pay several visits to the target area and put extra efforts ensure authenticity of rigor of research findings, so that the findings could be implemented realistically to resolve the issues.

The benefit to knowledge development and your discipline:

The study will contribute valuable addition to knowledge development generally and to the specific field of conflict studies and international relations specifically. As the research basis on deep qualitative research following collection of realistic data, therefore, the study will add significant information to the available literature. [3] Moreover, the field of international relations and conflict involves several dimensions, with multi-dimensional complexities. Therefore demand rigorous and fact based empirical research to address the complexities. Keeping in view the dire importance of the research in the cited field, this particular study will prove to be highly beneficial in adding more value to the existing literature in the discipline of international relations and conflict studies.

Research that will/could follow after this proposed project:

This study could be used as the authentic source of information and literature for future research in the field of international relations more specifically conflict studies. Future studies take the findings of the study as the base for their research argument and empirical analysis. The research findings will also work as gateway for further study in the same field, and will act as an authentic and robust source of information in the academia, related to the field of international relations in general and conflict studies in specific. Moreover, the study could be more deep following the research proposal as it will used multiple research tools to extract themes and findings so as to validate the data and its findings for effectively resolving the given issues, along with acting as benchmark for further study.

Proposed Budget

Provide an estimated cost of doing the research. The full amount of these estimated costs/expenses may not be funded. This must be detailed.

S.No Expense Description Duration Estimated Cost
1 Research and Writing Two months $200
2 Travels to the Central African Republic

Sites/ Transportation

$800
3 Accommodation /meal/ logistic $500
4 Other contingencies $200
Total $1700

Time (Estimated Duration required to complete):

Approximately two months will be required to complete the extensive research on the given issues. The time frame includes the duration ranging from data collection till the deduction of findings and subsequent recommendations. Moreover, it may take further some time to cross examine the findings through some alternative research studies such as time series analysis and periodic studies in a bid to authenticate the findings of the research study.

Grant Funded Expenses

The total expected funds required for effective completion of the project is estimated as $1700. This complete budget encompasses all the minor as well as major expenses including traveling expenses, helping material, and other expenses. The total grant fund expenses has been aggregated not with imagination or false assumptions, rather the values are realistic and based on the need assessment conducted before developing the complete research proposal keeping into account all the dimensions of the new research.

Travel (Describe what is required and why. Specifically detail why travel is required for your research project)[4]

To complete the research project effectively and efficiently, several travel expenses will incur as the research will pay visits to different target sites, to analyze the ongoing ground situation. The research along with team members will travel to the target area, several time, at the time of initial data collection and subsequent analysis stages, whereby researcher needs generic and rational approach to extract themes from the realistic data, concerning to the ongoing conflict in the cited area, and come up with mechanisms to resolve the conflicts.

Airfare

As the researcher will visit the sites several times as needs to investigate and authenticate realistic information to complete the research requirements. Airfare charges are aggregated with total travel expenses as mentioned in the above figure.

Lodging

During the two months, qualitative research on the conflict resolution lodging expense will also bear as the research will stay at the site area for several days as needed. The researcher with team will stay at nearby hotels to conveniently proceed and complete the research proceedings.

Food:

Similarly, as other expenses incurred, food expense also adds to the expenses, the research will have to bear food expenses as far as stays outside the country or at the research site. Food expenses aggregated for the whole duration of research is estimated to $100 with minimum approximation.

Misc.

Besides, the above mentioned detailed expenses Misc. expenses will also incur including computer expenses, paper expenses, and other such minor expenses. These misc expenses also encompass meetings arranged with experts and local people to conduct interviews therein certain refreshment and other related expenses incur possibly.

Resources (Books, computer programs, etc.)

Obviously, the research will require multiple research resources including computers, books, and literature pieces including research papers to ensure deep research and investigation into the matter. Moreover, the researcher will also use digital sources to get further information to add value to the research study. [5] Furthermore, the resources also require publication expenses and paper charges that are necessarily required to complete the task timely and effectively.

Total Grant Request (excluding time)

The total grant requested for successful completion of the cited project estimates worth $1700. This total budget included all the required expenses of all types, both minor and major. This total grant includes all the expenses that are necessarily required to complete the task within the above mentioned time frame, ensuring optimum utilization of resources. The grant has been calculated with minimum to zero margin of profit, with more emphasizing on researcher insightful contribution to minimize barriers to conflict resolution in the Central African Republic specifically, and to add sufficient pool of knowledge to the field of international relations and conflict studies.

In the end, each and every effort will be put to ensure optimum and effective utilization of available resources and attempting to conduct and complete the research living within the means, and not trying to work beyond the mean, that may disturb the cost benefit equilibrium. The researcher also pledge to ensure privacy of data so safety and security concerns and vow to make sure all efforts for transparently completing the research study to bring out significant solutions to the pressing problem as cited above.
